Is hopkins really the best fight out there for him after Kessler, presuming he gets the win?

In fact, What the thread should have said, is; "Who is the fighter that offers the most reward for JC in his next fight? Personally, I think that fighting hopkins could be a lose lose situation, because if he was to go on and beat bhop, people may well turn around and say that bhop was just too old, Dawson might be seen as a little green now, and if Taylor moves up and JC beats him, it may well be said that Taylor hadnt bedded into the SMW division yet! Im not sure myself....

He's said he's done at 168 unless the winner of Pavlik/Taylor move up. Taylor is moving up after this fight, so if he wins I think it could be Calzaghe-Taylor in Vegas at 168. Failing that, I think Hopkins would be the fight for him, yes.

Win or lose, Hopkins then retire

Personally I dont think JC gains anything at all by fighting Roy Jones, hes way past his best, and has been for years

Calzaghe is also past his best imo- he cannot sustain 12 rds of pressure against the dane me thinks

Froch or Dawson. Don't mess about fighting middleweights. He's done too much of that already.

Fight Bernard Hopkins or Chad Dawson. Maybe even the winner of Taylor v. Pavlik if they are willing to move up and fight him.

B-Hop may not be the most difficult opponent for JC at this moment but that's exactly why he is the best opponent for him - Joe said he wanted Bernard post fight-interview with Bika and Bernard said he wanted Calzaghe in NYC Yankee Stadium post fight interview with Winky, and two more things, Jermain backed off a good payday to fight Calzaghe in England before and Chad is calling out Antonio Tarver, there's nothing left for both B-Hop and JC but to fight each other.

    Dawson would be good.

Chad's fought on Calzaghe under cards before.

I agree with the majority here - Dawson would be best. Hopkins will only look good on paper. Wright is too light, Taylor will probably come off a loss - I don't think that Pavlik wants to move up just yet.

So if you ask me - Dawson would be the best choice, if he wants to have the most difficult one.
