Should take a solid rebouned opponent, then go after another belt. It's going to be a brutal thrashing loss, so he'll need a rebound opponent, a guy like Froch who has little chance at all for victory, but is a name.
All depends on how bad the beating is from Calzaghe. I think Kessler should have a solid rebound fight against one of the top20 fighters before fighting Berrio for the title or fight the winner of Green/Manfredo/Lacy triangle.
After he beats Calcracky, he should prolly give em a rematch... Hes young and has time on his side unlike Calcracky, then when he beats his ass worse prolly unify again or move up.
sigh, you again. Dont make me own you in YET ANOTHER thread. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10815 Decebal, Berrio is ibf champ isnt he ? or have I got it wrong
Oh just saw what you replied to me, i gotta admit you are committed to yo' boy Calzaghe... Let me read and ill reply, maybe, shite looks long homie.:smoke
Assuming that Calzaghe wins, JC should go for whoever is the best/ more dangerous for him, irrespective of how big the name. My shortlist includes, in no particular order: Dawson, Bute, Bhop. Kessler should go for one of these opponents too, if he is fully recovered in time. Assuming Kessler wins, Kessler should go for Bute, AND THEN, if he wins - Dawson. JC should go for Bhop and if he wins - Bute.
Chances are that a certain This content is protected will have taken his [Berrio] belt away by the time JC meets Kessler...Berrio lives on borrowed time, and he does it as if there were no tomorrow!
Imo Kessler should move to light heavyweight, after beating Calzaghe, and try to clean that division to. There will be no point in staying in smw, unless he wants to do an Ottke/Calzaghe thing, make money at low risk.
I agree with you that if Kessler blasts Calzaghe to Kingdom Come, Bute doesn't appear to have much of a chance...but as things stand now...low risk?:-(
