Peter and Vitali are fighting for the WBC belt. Valuev and Chagaev have their rematch for the WBA.

Forget about the mandatory challengers Thompson and Povetkin. All things being equal what available fighter would you like to see Wlad in with next?

He should get vocal and call Haye's bluff! **** Haye and his big mouth. Klit was the first guy to win a unification in a long ****ing time in his last fight, he can fight Haye and the criticizm won't be too bad.

I think it should be Thompson. I don't know why we would forget about him. I think Klitschko wins easily but Thompson has earned his shot and waited a long time.

He should fight Povetkin or the winner of Valuev and Chagaev.

I hope he fights Haye and wipes the floor with him. Haye hasnt earned his stripes yet at heavy to be slagging Wlad off.

I agree. A champion still has an obligation to meet his mandatories even if the odds are grosley in his favor.

WHO NEX? I tell u who :nod

The best fights would be Peter or Chagaev since their unification but Peter is tied up and Chagaev is in the Arthur Abraham witness protection program :yep

The next best option would be Valuev or Povetkin. Valuev will fight the white tyson and povetkin is taking a break. After that, it's slim pickins. virchis is waiting on crazy jc gomez.

Thompson is the best available opponent and he is owed a shot. he's a big awkard lefty and a top 10 guy fo sure. he would give anyone else a lot of trouble but wlad will destroy him because they have similar styles and Thompson is pretty stationary unlike the Iggster so he will be hit early and often.

Get the mandatories out of the way - then he can fight whomever he wants.

    So start with Thompson.

Anyone except Povetkin....Povetkin isn't ready yet and to feed him to the wolves this early would rob us of a future big fight at heavy.

He should take on Peter, Thompson isn't any sort of challenge to him. It's a "mandatory" and I GUESS he has to take it but...come on.

His mandatory challengers are actually still the best guys on that list. Which mandatory has to come first is who he will have to fight next.

agreed although i dont think he'll ever to be ready but he can improve his defense for sure.

povetkin should take on iggy then a guy like virchis. if gets through that, then he'll be as ready and prepared as he can be. im sorry, but donald, byrd and chambers are not a good prep for wlad.

that would be thompson so im sure that will be the fight in june/july. thompson did an interview on boxingtalk that revealed as much

No argument on Donald, Byrd and Chambers not being Wlad material....I still think Povetkin will pose the biggest threat to Vlad just not right now.

One name I havent seen mentioned is Oliver McCall. He's a name whose in shape and has a granite chin. It wouldn't be his toughest opponent but in terms of name marketability and in terms of competition, it beats a guy like Thompson.

I think more focus needs to be placed on discovering a unified lineal champion, before we start giving older fighters with household names title shots.

Well he's got two of em (title belts)...and a 3rd one will run as far as he can before going for unification (Ruslan).

If you want unification, you need to be praying that stonehenge beats Chagaev for the belt.
