The problem with McEwan is that he isn't ranked by any organization in their Top15. It's still a viable option but I doubt that GBP will risk the Scottsman 0's with Lemieux. I would rather go with Karmazin and put it on the card of the possible Froch-Abraham fight in Montreal to give Karmazin time since he just fought a hard fight with Sylvester.

Why is Pavlik getting mentioned?

Feeding Lemieux to Pavlik right now would be a worse mistake than having Rey Bautista in with Daniel Ponce De Leon at the time it happened...there's no reason to want to see that unless you're desperate to see Pavlik get a good win (and isn't he a super middleweight now anyway?)

    Nobody mentioned Ouma?

Thats who I'd pit him against. Tho Vera and Rubio are good shouts.

I heard there's no money left for a decent undercard.

Forget Lemieux unless HBO really REALLY wants it.

Agree! i love David but Pavlik still a top dog and a dangerous challenge for anybody. Let the kid developement in the hand of Russ Anber and i can garanty you that we will see him face top-contenders in 2012!

at 160 Lemieux would beat a weight-drained Pavlik coming off a pretty embarassing loss to a JMW.

    He's not making MW anymore.

Why is Pavlik getting mentioned? Well -- my best guess would be that the DL hype train has left the station:yep

Now, I would not discount the possibility of Lemieux growing into a super middleweight in maybe a couple of years. There would have been a precedent of success stories about as short or shorter, but he'd almost always be giving up height so it would be a consideration, especially with a much taller quality jabber like Kelly. He could do well there, if he carries his punch. A fight with a probably-sliding Pavlik at 168 in maybe 2012 could be interesting.

Right now, in 2010 - boo's right. Talk of Lemieux-Pavlik is more premature than me with that drunk Hungarian model who took my virginity.
