The best ratings would be: Ward, AA/Froch winner, Bute, and then the rest. Froch has done more than Bute at 168 with wins over Pascal, Taylor, and Dirrell. Ward has too with his win over Kessler. Kessler is in all likelihood retired or at least out of competitive matches for two years because he'll need one tune-up if he even comes back. Dirrell is probably done or out of competitive matches for a while. Dirrell only has one DQ win against top competition anyway. In my opinion, Bute's wins against Bika and Andrade are better.

So Pavlik should rank ahead of Bute because he beat Taylor at a 164 catchweight a couple years ago :patsch. Even if he beats Brian Vera, Pavlik doesn't belong in the top 10 at that weight - he's done nothing there.

    4- Carl Froch
    5- Andre Dirrell
    6- Arthur Abraham
    7- Librado Andrade
    8- Robert Stieglitz
    9- Allan Green

I agree for the most part although Pavlik looked good at 166 against Taylor. He was always a big middleweight.

I think Pavlik should move up but now it looks like he wants to stay at 160lbs...

Well, he's campaigned at super middleweight a good portion of his career... and you can't expect him to start from scratch either?
Where would you have him? Behind Stieglitz? Really? The man who got his ass handed to him by Librado Andrade?
I honestly don't know where to put Pavlik... but you're probably right: NOT in front of Bute.

I think Bute should fight someone with a pulse. Seriously though I have no idea since the only good super middleweights are in the super six at the moment besides Bute, maybe he should just fight bums at the Bell Centre until the Super Six is over.

Yes, Stieglitz has done more at the weight recently than has Pavlik. If Pavlik gets a decent win there, he can jump up quickly.

But even if you count Pavlik's entire resume, Bute's recent record is still better than Pavlik's. It's not like Pavlik has beaten anyone any good in the last few years.

Good list, even though I think it's a little too soon to put Bute that high.
Glad to see you've put Andrade up at #7. Love that guy. He deserves that spot.

That's probably pretty close to how I have it, except that I'd have Bika at #9 and wouldn't have Green in my top 10 (and probably not in my top 15 at this point).

I know nobody really rates him anymore for obvious reasons, but I have trouble ranking Green ahead of Miranda. Miranda beat Green head to head, plus he's beaten better secondary competition, plus everyone he's lost to is really good.

I agree about Bika being the #9. I forgot about him...

    Nice top!
    My top:

    1- Andre Ward
    2- Lucian Bute
    3- Mikkel Kessler
    4- Carl Froch
    5- Andre Dirrell
    6- Arthur Abraham
    7- Kelly
    8- Sakio
    9- Librado Andrade
    10- Robert Stieglitz
    11- Allan Green

Also, in my humble opinion, you can not rate a fighter higher than another one only based on the results of their direct fights; take Tayler and Hopkins... Hopkins is a better fighter even though Tayler beat him twice.

Damn, it all got different when I actually started to make the list and had to think more about "who would beat who":

    1) Andre Ward
    2) Mikkel Kessler
    3) Andre Dirrell
    4) Arthur Abraham
    5) Carl Froch
    6) Lucian Bute
    7) Librado Andrade
    8) Kelly Pavlik
    9) Sakio Bika

See, now I've had to move Bute up to #6. Ask me again in an hour, and I'd probably have him rated as #1 again!

I gave Pavlik the benefit of the doubt this time... but I'm not really sure if he could've withstood Bika in a fight. I felt he had to be in there anyway - I refuse to put him behind the likes of Stieglitz and Sartison, to mention but a few.

    I agree.
What's more - Miranda didn't just beat Green, he OUTBOXED him... something I didn't even believe could happen against a guy like Miranda. That's like being outslugged by Paulie Malignaggi.
