Who should Lucian Bute fight next?

Just look at what happened when Kessler fought Bouadla, he became mandatory for Steiglitz. Politics exist in the belts, it can be made that oosthuizen magicaly appears in the ranking of the IBF if Interbox is trying to make this fight.

but really everyone (and I mean everyone except the president) wants a Bute vs Froch or a Bute vs Ward.

Lets wait for them to turn it down and if they do so, then we can start to ask ourselves who else is available.

 

Whether they turn it down or not,he'll need a fight before either are available because I don't think they'll sign up for a quick match with Bute after what should be a hard fight.If either fancies Bute straight after,they'd be well advised to rest first followed by long preparation.

 

when Pascal lost to Froch he went to LHW, at the time it was his first big fight and he wasnt considered as a world class yet even here. Then after he got his belt and he fought with multiple shoulder dislocation and then he beat Dawson, etc. Then HBO wanted the Bute vs Pascal fight to happen. But both promoter are not too much into this because chances are that the looser will loose also the interest of the american tv and so his international career will have a big set back. They like to fight each on their side and later in a couple of years they will fight each other.

 

boxing has bin around for awile, but in Canada (montreal) popularaty is groing like crazy, good boxer are being developed here. bute pascal will not happen for at least 2 years. they are based in montreal. 2 main promoter, interbox and gym. still frigile money wise makes no sense to face each other and criple one of the promoters. ad to the fact bute would have to play yo yo with weight divisions as he still has work to do at 168. as bat the man said even if he is not a bute fan (not a hater also) kessler froch or ward. any other name will just feed more trolls.

 

I'm guessing it's a kind of Top Rank v GBP thing going on.Surely it would be a huge domestic blockbuster though?

Yeah, it would be big and some people here are crying for it, but most (fans and journalist) dont think its time yet. If they could sign for multiple fights with HBO for example after they fight each other, it would make the decision easier because it would ensure a future with money when one of them loose.

Then there is Andre and Anthony Dirrell.

 

I would actually like to see AA vs Bute. The only guy who really schooled AA was Froch... AA caught Dirrell and knocked him down before the disqualification...

Look, it's true Bute has very limited options at the minute. But that's not the real issue... The issue is he should have been fighting top competition years ago. The guy is no spring chicken.
