Somebody who can't punch because with his suspect chin, he'll likely take a canvas nap

Idk why you'd go up a level from the guy who just beat you for a comeback fight... And whilst not quite as granite as Hrgovic, Parker is still very durable and a good points fighter with a better gas tank than Hrgovic - as far as following the blueprint goes, he should have the tools.

You either want a confidence builder he's likely to win by KO, or you want one he could actually win on the cards... I think difficult tests to learn big lessons from can probably wait a couple of fights, for now.

Maybe Joyce... He's shot enough, he's slow enough for Itauma to practice pacing on and his durability isn't what it was, so a stoppage in later rounds would be entirely possible... And it gives him a name, albeit with the same caveats as Whyte, in that he's a corpse at this point.

Or you pick someone who's transparently shite but has an undeservedly inflated reputation... Knyba, perhaps.

I would say Knyba beats Joyce at the moment.

The thing you are missing in this is that Itauma doesn't NEED to dispatch his guys early. He needs to work on controlling the fight with his jab and feints. Counter more selectively and MUCh more loose and fluid, not trying to take the dudes head off with every shot. He could have got the 12 rounds in against Franklin if they had planned the fight out that way.

He needs to get rounds in, and that means he needs to fight more disciplined to adapt his style, and he needs a trainer and corner that will call him out when he reverts to type and moves off script.

No ne is going to complain if his first few fights back show a proper rebuild - hells if he wants to go for KO in 11 or 12 thne he has the option.

Until he goes 12 and looks comfortable doing it, the questions will remain - and most likely in his own head!

I don't think Moses can take a step back opponent without damaging his reputation further. I think he needs to prove he is a different breed; I think he IS, and fight a proper, live contender. Parker may be perfect although 'casual' fans might not realise the magnitude of such a match and possible victory. I don't think Moses needs confidence as such and I dont see that blowing away an easy touch does anything for his development or 'brand'

Yeah, he lacks conditioning, but he also doesn't fight in a way that will set him up for success with his style unless he KOs everyone early - which I don't think he possesses the power to do at the highest level.

I feel like he's more of a twitchy counter puncher, not a pressure guy. He needs to learn to fight in between exchanges more, rather than trying to force them constantly for counter punching opportunities, or at least stall in between the exchanges better.

He is clearly a front runner as it stands. If he slows down, there may be a high likelihood that he has less success early in a fight too, but unless you bank on KOing everyone in 4 rounds, you have to be able to box and recover at some point...

As far as who he should fight - I'd say someone in the top 30 or so for maybe a confidence builder, than top 20 for more development. I feel like the Hrgovic fight showed he wasn't ready for the top 10, I could be wrong, but that's how I see it.

That's exactly what I'm saying, who Moses fights next is far less important than HOW he fights IMO.

Some one mentioned Jolly - that wouln't be a bad shout, he showed pretty decent chin and conditioning in the Vianello fight and unless Itauma REALLY can't go 12 he's unlikely to threaten another loss.

The issue Moses and his team have is they need to approach the next fight differently; whether it's a can-type step back or someone nearer the top 10, if Moses stops him before 9 with the same style, it's NOT going to convince many folk anything was learned from the Hrgo fight. If however he pitches a disciplined shut-out, without blowing or showing any stamina issues, then they can build on that and move to the next one, with lots of questions answered - and more importantly, it shows Moses himself that there are more ways that 'all in' to skin the cat.

Hughie Fury would be a good one. No real threat and will mange to go some rounds I imagine.

He'll come back in 6 months against someone we've never heard of or a name that's super washed and has no power. He's going to be fighting nobodies for a few years until they think he can fight past 6 rounds.
