Winner of Hatton-Mayweather....and then he should retire. If he beats Cotto and beats the winner Hatton-Mayweather he can ride off in the sunset and be considered one the best, if he loses he should retire. He has nothing else to prove. 3 titles at 3 weights one of the greatest talents in the sport ever, heart, and an ambassador.
I like Mosley and all, but the over the top love for him on this board is nuts. Beating a totally stationary Vargas and going the distance with fighters like Cruz and Estrada doesn't make me think the days of #1 PFP Sugar Shane are coming back. I thought he lost to DLH in their second fight, he got beat pretty clearly by Wright and hasn't shown much of his great speed since...when? The Collazo fight was a nice win, but really, when was the last time he looked really good? If he had come up as a welter and hadn't looked the way he did at 135, would anybody be saying this sort of stuff now? No way. I'm still not 100% sold on Cotto's chin and he seems to be especially easy to hit when he doesn't have the faster hands (see Torres fight), but he beat two guys with pretty fast hands and feet in Judah and Quintana and his chin seems to be better at 147. I don't think Mosley has the speed (and maybe not the power; he hasn't shown to be a monster puncher at 147) to beat Cotto, much less PBF.
If PBF fights Mosely and beats him, all of boxing will scream that Shane is "washed up" and has been washed up since he lost 2-3 fights in succession a few years ago .. I'd like to still see the fight, but this **** about PBF being scared of Shane or being "man enough" is garbage
Mosley has a hell of a task in front of him.....If Mosely does beat Cotto he should take on PBF as that would be the most satisfying of accomplishments. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that Mosely will leave a good percentage of himself in the ring on Nov 10th. If he does beat Cotto and moves on to fight PBF, Floyd will surely be fighting half of one of our generations ATG's. Meaning Cotto (win, lose or draw) will make an impact on Shane and it won't be an invigorating one. Of course some would argue that Shane is going to totally blow Cotto away, which I highly doubt but anything is possible.
