You are right, it was Russell. I just had Weeks on my mind from an earlier post in the thread.

 

Jay Nady ... He would stop the fight at the right time or give the impression that he is forcing Cotto's corner to throw in the towel.

Cortez is another option, so is Benji Estevez

 

The point is, he wouldn't have even been put in that situation had he fought a little smarter. That's what's wrong with this world, no one wants to take ownership anymore. Everyone wants to blame others for their failures.

 

Weeks, Smoger or Bayless are the best refs in boxing.

whats wrong is that you see things as black or white while they are in fact shades of gray.

 

I agree with that to an extent. But the point is also that the ref could have(and most think should have) made a different decision and the outcome of the fight would have probably been different, and there are examples where the fighter was not to blame at all which have already been mentioned.

Tony Weeks definatly. He's the best ref around, he lets the action go and only stops it if its absolutely necessary.

Although I dont really care who the ref would be as long as its not fuking Joe Cortez. Yeah Mayweather would have won anyway, but Cortez was so awful that night.

I watched Cortez ref a fight the other day and the stuff he was letting go compared to Hatton/Pbf was beyond belief.
