Dont do this he is ranked by the WBO bull please.

Michell got his ranking by beating Murray for god sake .

Last nights performance was excellent but Mitchell is not world class, barely European.

I really hope the Harrison fight doesn't happen.

When have you said any of that? So you think they're world level? **** off.

If he's a world champion, let him prove it.

Im makin an arse of myself by pointing out that Burns hasn't fought anybody worthy of callin himself a world champion?

I take it you Scottish, yeah? That explains everything. Your the one makin an arse of yourself you biased ****.

So are you saying that the rankings of the governing body he holds the belt for have no connection whatsoever to who he fights?
No one's saying Mitchell's world class, but he was a credible opponent and most of us thought it would be a far tougher night than it was.As did most credible boxing journalists.

    Kiko Martinez?

You can be a world level fighter, without having been HBO hyped mate.

I've said it in several posts today.
He is a world champion. No need to prove it unless you can prove otherwise.
Yes you are.You haven't offered a decent argument to any of the points I've made. You clearly hate Burns and can't make any decent points to refute me.
I am Scottish and my dad's Irish.Does that explain it for you? I think most people know who's the arse here and it ain't me.:hi:

Im with you Burns's performance last night was very good , but he was up against a British level fighter nothing more.

Fighting the likes of Nicky Cook (possibly the worst title holder I have ever known) and Mitchell who looks completely lost above British level .

God I wish there was just one belt per divsion .

Most of us feel the same way about one belt, and I doubt Ricky would hold it in the division.
No answer to my question though?

The only point I got wrong last night was I thought it would go around 8 rounds, as Burns is no puncher.

    Mitchell was awful.

Sorry to say this about a fighter , but he has had enough chances.

Mitchell's problem, is that he was never made, physically or stylistically to be a lightweight.

    Sorry I didnt answer.

The governing bodies are only interested in making money.

Look at the WBC the stripped Martinez of the middle weight championship of the world in order to get higher fees from JCC jnr.

Its no different here , Burns vs anybody else from the UK makes money.

Yeah, I agree. I think it will happen though. Harrison will be fed someone like Derry Matthews and then pushed into an undeserved world title shot. It'd sell tickets in Scotland, so it'll happen.

I dont understand, he is 27 5 ft 8 and walks around at 160 - 165 , this is hardley Super Feather Weight.

    Probably naturally bigger than Hatton.

I would love to see him fight someone like Richard Abril. That really should be a unification fight after what he did to Rios.

I agree with you,but you have to remember how it works for fighters fighting under a certain British promoter.Ricky has a promoter and manager who are mostly interested in money, not Ricky's legacy.Ricky has no pull in the US and I don't see Eddie Hearn kicking his door down with an offer.
He's not they type to kick up a stink, especially with his manager who has stuck by him for many years.Do you honestly believe that Ricky doesn't want to go and fight the very best?
At least you're trying to make points in a reasonable way so credit to you for that.:thumbsup
As for the other guy who compared Ricky to Cleverly;Ricky has had three defining fights were many fancied him to get beat.He was 5/1 underdog against Martinez, most people expected Katsidis to beat him and it's fine to slaughter Mitchell in hindsight, but most experts expected a very evenly balanced fight and many tipped Mitchell to win, especially in the late build up.NC hasn't fought anyone who was expected to give him a good fight.he got lucky with Bellew.
Ricky usually gets slated for having no power,so he still made a statement last night.
