He looked exceptionally good in there. maybe it was the fact that Alvarado was worthless, but to my eye Rios looked sharp. He worked the jab, he looked for angles, he cut the ring, he threw combinations, he moved his head, etc. He says it was a great training camp and that he listened to Garcia, so I'm taking his word and giving us a list of ten guys he could fight. Assuming politics won't get in the way...WHO DO THE FANS WANT?
And I didn't even have room for Berto, Ortiz, JSK, Josesito, Brook, Khan, Vargas, Herrera, Peterson, and Guerrero. Like seriously, if that's how he can fight who WOULDN'T he look good against? I'm thinking Alexander, Crawford, Pac, and Floyd would be poor matchups, but other than that...
Ortiz, Marquez, then the winner of Provo vs Matthyse. I'd pay 1000 bucks to see all those fights in a row.
unfortunately i think he loses to everyone on that list and has a punchers chance against algieri. he beat up a crackhead tonight, lets not get ahead of ourselves. i would like to see him against a live body and see what he could do before giving him a shot against anyone on that list.
Would really like to see any of the following fights: Rios vs JMM (with VADA testing :nono juan****s) Rios vs Broner Rios vs Bradley Rios vs Maidana
Off the list, I'd make him at least 50-50 against Provodnikov, Matthysse, Broner, and Algieri. DECENT chance against Garcia and JMM too. If Bradley can keep himself together I think he'd win a close one, but if he falls for the brawl Rios pulls it off. I think most of the guys at 147 might be too big for him to use his physicality on, and that's the key to his style.
Would rios and maidana even consider fighting each other? garcia trains both no? I'd love to see roidquez or Garcia next
Yeah, Provo hasn't been quite as impressive as he looked against Bradley. But the signs were always there that he has a ceiling (Herrera). I think it'd be an interesting matchup with Rios. We know that neither of them is making it to the top, but how good are they really?
