Leo Santa Cruz impressed the hell out of me last night. He looked excellent against Vusi Malinga, but I didn't think he had much power since Malinga had been waxed in two rounds by Hasigawa. But Santa Cruz showed he had real power by taking out Morel, who'd never been stopped and only dropped once. I'd really like to see Cruz back one more time, maybe in December. With Moreno moving up to fight Mares, who could Cruz fight? Any thoughts? Agbeko? Hugo Cazares? He who must remain unnamed?
The winner of Mares/Moreno may be a step too far. Shinsuke Yamanaka-LSC could be damned intriguing, but I don't see that fight being made any time soon. So I think Agbeko would be the favored choice, since he's a former champion and a still very viable in the 118lb division.
Santa Cruz said he is moving to 122 after the Morel fight. So I don't see that fight happening unless Agbeko plans to move up. Mijares , Wilfredo Vasquez, Rico Ramos would be good choices. Jorge Arce also but he's with Top Rank. So I won't hold my breath on that one happening.
There are alot of great match ups for him at 122lbs, alot of great choices mentioned in this thread. And yes, i CANNOT wait to see him again! I was very impressed with the guy! :thumbsup
I just watched his fight with Morel, was really entertaining. Morel's ribs must be killing him today!!!
