Darke is the man, no doubt

I think Andy on the Bunce hour is a top presenter, seems to have genuine knowledge of boxing, not just what he's studied for the occasion.

Buncey alongside in the studio, Darke on the mic, poach McCrory as well to co-commentate and Setanta have a dream team right there !

woodhall is the best co-commentator bar none. him and darke would be dream team. although the other guy on sky is just as good.

Woodhall is king of the mic.
Sir John of Rawling is now working full time delivering chocolate. He was caught in his all-black outfit on Saturday's debut ITV 4 boxing show. He was just about to jump off a cliff, swim across a shark infested bay to deliver the chocolates to the lady in his life. Was it Milk Tray or Black Magic in the 70s ads? Rest assured I'm in black from now on. Trust me. Johnny Cash eat your heart out.
Jim Rosenthal was proper having it with the untucked shirt and was clearly looking forward to getting on it with Liam and Noel.

It was beautiful ensemble piece. I loved it.

    Adios.

not many obvious options. i quiet liked rawling not the best but far from the worst....well at least they've still got Richie Woodhall

the guy commentating on vitali/peter i think his name is dave farrer is a good football commentator for eurosport, but will need a lot of getting used to as a blow by blow commentator although Woodhall would carry him as he did with rawling

i dont think they would get any commentator from sky

    big no no

jim neilly the worst blow by blow announcer i have ever heard

    possible option

there's a commentator on nuts tv one of the fight fests i don't know his name but he's decent (not the guy who did the povetkin fight)

mike costello from radio 5 live

What about Adam Smith from Sky Sports? Isn't Roy Jones Jr going to be working with Setanta because Paul Dempsey mentioned it at the London press conference.

yep, Roy is joining setanta :happy but he will be the co-commentator much like woodhall so they still need a main blow by blow commentator. i think they might have three when roy joins. sky won't let adam smith go would they?

I may just keep suggesting Steve Holdsworth until someone sees sense and agrees with me.

As fans we want an honest and good description of the action.
I like Jim Watt but the way he was all over my fellow Welshman Nathan Cleverly's balls in the 2nd half of the Oakey fight is plain wrong. No need to hype things just call what you see. Like Steve does,
In closing I'd like to say....
Steve Holdsworth for Setanta Commentary :happy

back in the days of a satellitte channel called 'screensport' which had great boxing on it...barry mcguigan used to be commentator...for eubank, benn, herbie hide etc fights....and, then, he was very good...before he became an analyst he was a great commentator..

Oh, go on then, I've always liked him anyway. He is entertaining and doesn't take himself too seriously.
