Pac went up and beat Oscar De La Hoya at a catchweight (Oscar was fighting at 154 previously) then after that fight went on to fight Hatton at 140

Meanwhile Shane Mosley knocked out Antonio Margarito (WW champ) who of course went onto lose to Floyd at 147 after Floyd had a tuneup against the guy who went onto embarrass Pacquiao, JMM

Pac of course fought Cotto at a catchweight at 147 then moved onto fight Clottey, then Margarito at another catchweight of 150

So yeah Mayweather is the lineal 147 champion in my eyes

The 147 lb champion should be the fighter who holds all the belts. A fighter who wins a sactioning bodys title belt is considered a champion (bottom line). Now we can argue who is the best among the champions but untill they fight each other we will never know.Yeah, we could break down thier fights and analyze thier skill sets and come up with a reasonble conclusion but we still wont know for sure. My thoughts are that Mayweather is the best champion out of all the 147lb champions but that dosent make them any less a champion.:bbb

 

firstly ODLH was at 147 not a catchweight, secondly yoy miss out the fact floyd retired - long enough for him to be dropped out of the rankings.
