He is what he is. If he hasn't changed after being dropped 3 times, he's just set in his ways. No trainer can change him. Khan kept getting dropped the same way before he got knocked out! He'll probably be put in "safe" fights until he gets upset like Glass Amir did. Because his people may not understand the reality, which is THERE ARE NO "SAFE" FIGHTS!
What worries me is that despite his huge experience (400+ amateur fights) and 12 pro fights, he still looks a bit rough and raw in there - reminds me of a very talented guy who is just starting out! Anyone else think the same? To me, that suggests he's not getting much better, even with 10 more fights as a pro; he won't change much either.
If he just left his right hand up by his chin, he wouldn't have been caught nearly as much. Incredible talent but he will have problems with a 100% Guzman and Campbell.
Bul****. Steward is a trainer of great Champions such as Hearns, Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko. He trains better defense style, ring generalship and so on.
Yeah, he also teaches how to hug, put on a jabbing borefest, how to keep the effective punches in the bag and how to turn off the natural instincts. He simply put all his talent to turn Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor to "No Intentions" Taylor.
With Manny in the corner Jermain Taylor dropped Pavlik in the second round and when he had do what Steward had teached him, he would have knocked Plavlik out. It was not Steward false.
It's a way to look at it... The other way is that Taylor got knocked out with Steward and his instructions but put on a show to almost pull out the decision (some had him ahead) back with Nelson.
