i saY kali meehan a tall fighter ranked #3......rahman blew him outta there........IF TUA KNOCKED HIM OUT IN HIGH FASHION TUAS BIG NAME WOULD GET HIM A SHOT AT VITALI/WLAD OR HAYE........
Meehan has an eliminator against Chagaev in March, I believe. No way he chances fighting Tua. But to answer your question: Tua has a 3 fight deal with Maori TV. Two of them will be in NZ, with the other in Hawaii. All will be journeyman around the skill level of Friday. After that, I see him going for an eliminator in the second half of the year. If he wins that, he fights for a title.
Depends on what he does.If he starts the 3 fight in 90 days tourney he still has 2 vs the same type opponent level as Ahunanya.Golota,Rahman,Boswell,Mora,Grant are all good options. If he chooses to step it up it's a trick.
Rahman is out, as he wants too much money. These will primarily be regional fights, with minimal money involved. I think Friday is getting $35,000. And he has to travel to NZ. That leaves out most of those on your list, cubex. A rematch with Robert Hawkins is a possibility, as Hawkins thought he won the first fight. The key is not going below Friday's skill level, as no one will show up to see it. And it's being broadcast in NZ on Maori TV. People will just stay at home and watch it.
If Tua wants to rid himself of the Maori TV deal, he should fight guys like Welliver, Seldon, Basile, Hoppa, Wilson, Leapai, Tos, Minto. Arreola, Peter, Meehan, Ruiz, Toney, Rahman, Golota, Briggs, are also good choices, but Tua will have to split the purse to make them happen.
The first line on your list is possible. Welliver has essentially called him out. But the other guys would have to take under $50,000 to fight him in or around NZ. Minto won't fight another banger. Wilson and Leapai would last 1 round. Seldon the same, although he wanted too much money. Basile? Tos is still fighting? The second line on your list are reserved once Maori TV ends, as those are big money fights.
He should defnetely NOT fiught Hawkins again.Hawkins has a style to make him look bad especially when he catches Tua taking opponnets and training lightly like he did in the first fight which I thought Hawkins gave him hell.Tua was lucky to get a draw on my card with the spectacular ending. Ahunanya might prove to be a tough nut to crack stylistically aswell for a few rounds at least but Friday is terribly inactive and seemed out of shape at the press conference but that was 2 months or so before the bout.
I'm hoping the best for Tua. I really hope that he wins a title finally for himself and New Zealand. Tua's resume will finally get the attention that it deserves.
Assuming it all plays out, I see a Tua vs Arreola or a Tua vs Peter in the Fall. Big money fights to go along with an eliminator for a belt.
