Thompson is the most acccomplished current American heavyweight. Brock, Byrd, Ruiz, Chambers, Holyfield all have losses, but not Thompson.

Povetkin is a very good young Russian contender.

Both are top10 fighters and I'd be happy if Wlad fights any of them. Other interesting fights are Valuev and/or Chagaev.

With all due respect, just look well into your argument. Povetkin and Thompson always come forward and throw punches and Wladimir is the one to make the most of their more attractive styles ( compared with Sultan's)... You mean like Mayweather did against Baldomir, Hopkins against Wright, Whitaker against Chavez, Camacho against Pazienza - these were all less than stellar fights and you had one aggressive fighter and one making the best out of the other's aggression... Have you not questioned yourself whether Wlad held back punches due to Sultan's punch power too - two heavy punchers holding back punches because of being afraid to get caught... In that sense, Povetkin against Thompson would be a better fight than either one of them against Klitschko. Klitschko really has to let his hands go and build his reputation inside the ring b'cause he was the one to say to Larry in the Brewsta post-fight interview that he's not gonna judge his performances, he's going to let others judge his performances for him... Well, that's what Bert Sugar and plenty of others are doing. Emanuel Steward, Bernd Boente and German TV are unreliable sources to judge Klitschko.

    Oh please................

Wladimir has one of the highest KO percentages of any HW in history. One UD & we should all consider him a soft touch?

Not every HW fight ends in KO, especially when facing a counterpunching southpaw with good hand speed. Sultan was a legit top 2-5 Heavyweight and Wladimir easily out pointed him.

It was not a very exciting fight but at least half the blame lies w/ Sultan, who has fought a few stinkers against Austin, Briggs, Holyfield & now Klitschko. When was Klitschko's last boring, anti-climatic fight?

He has a high KO percentage but that doesn't prove that he commits fully to the punch - he may just be heavy handed and too rangy. Kermit Cintron also has an incredible kayo ratio.

Klitschko's stance is too upright and conservative and he's too boxing saavy to be really exciting... I mean, do you really get excited to see Austin crumbling to successive left hooks, Byrd dropped by a hybrid right hook-uppercut and Brock flattened by a long right hand, even if he spends twelve rounds the way he did against Peter, five rounds fighting one-handed against Brock, and four more rounds against TOS like that? He has to go behind his punch and fight with more intensity... The Ray Mercer and the Jameel McCline fights - those were very good ones.
