Ruiz ducked Ortiz, Whyte ducked Ortiz, everyone is ducking Ortiz. Grow up. What the hell is a 'worthy' opponent in this case? The guy with a strong Mexican-American fanbase who everyone saw destroy Joshua and recently headlined his own PPV, or an ancient Cuban bum-beater who got smashed by Wilder twice and has a complete clown outfit for a promotional team? Do you even need to think about that question? And no it's not beyond ridiculous to claim Ortiz only wants to fight bums when that's what ninety-five percent of his resume consists of. Past a certain point I don't give a toss who you claim ducked you. Go fight someone else then, someone who isn't a total joker, and work your way into contention where ducking starts to carry real financial penalties. If your resume consists of fighters like Daniel Martz, Razvan Cojanu, and Alexander Flores then you're simply not trying period, and you have nobody to blame for your predicament but yourself. But hey maybe Whyte will decide to give Ortiz a shot after all. Then Ortiz and his feet of clay promotors can pull out claiming Whyte low-balled them with another career high payday.
I was keen on Ortiz when he was possibly being positioned for Wlad. But as I remember it he bailed out of Ustinov at one stage and ended up being a bit of a patsy for Wilder. I sort of remember Ortiz ko Martz with Wilder ringside ready to mouth off moments after coz of bad blood or whatever. Got a real professional wrestling vibe off it. It looked staged to me.
Damn, Ustinov was more former am KBer, pro KBer, converted into a pro boxer and late starter in pro boxing scene. His younger versions in KB were very good. Ustinov is older than Ortiz and Povetkin + with long mileage under belt.
Yes. He competed in Korea once in kb. I got the impression Ustinov sometimes went into boxing fights with kickboxing still in the back of his mind.
Who remembers when fury was about to fight someone I can’t remember who but the late replacement was Ustinov and then a death in the fury family cancelled the fight last minute
Yeah, looks that cos pro boxing initially looked for him as addition. He had competed a bit also in MMA. I know one guy he had fought as pro KBer.
Whyte trying his best on Twitter to build this fight up. This content is protected This content is protected
Whyte likes to fight old men. Someone like Sam Peter would be his preference. Andy Ruiz or Filip Hrgovic would be ideal, but it's too much to hope for.
