Well I'm tired of talking about Manny n Fraud... Manny has fought two bums who turned into nobodies... n Floyd has only fought Mosley, the Law, and of course, a couple of bodyguards... neither deserves fighter of the year... so this is who I think should get it....

Sergio is definitely in the front running.. wins over Pavlik and Williams (devastating KO).... why shouldn't this guy be in the front running.. he's earned it...

After him I think the only guys who stand a chance are

.. if he were to knock out Bika impressively and early.. why not? He's undefeated, Super6 favorite for now... easily took care of Allan Green (even tho it's Allan Green)... Then I would say

stands a chance .. if he were to knock out Abraham.. he still has that epic close war losing to Kessler.... Then maybe also

, he's been impressive.. beating Arreola, Grant, and Koing Maddone (that's what it will take to me)..

.. only because this will be his 4th fight of the year.. and he's been koing everyone who wants it... and will probably deliver it to Vargas ths Saturday...

stood a chance beating many this year by Ko or tko.. or retiring them... but it still doesn't compare to Martinez.. so Ward, Froch, Segura, and adamek stand a chance.. but Martinez will walk away with it, like a walk off grand slam... eazy!

I don't think Adamek or Segura stand any chance. Beating Arreola was good but Grant and Maddalone (!) mean nothing. Segura has one great win but it's not enough.

Assuming they win their upcoming fights, Froch and Ward deserve to be on the shortlist and so does Pacquaio.

Martinez is the clear favourite to win though and I don't think a compelling argument can be made for anyone else.

Why should Pacman be there? Because he won a title at 154/151/150? lol

WTF?:nut The only achievements of Ward and Froch so fare are not being able to knock a chump and losing to a half blind guy.

If Pascal can knock B-Hop or even put on a dominating performance against him (something we've not seen since the first RJJ fight), the award should be given to both him and Martinez (The Ring has done it several times in the past).

No one except for Martinez and Pascal have a chance of winning it. It will probably be Martinez.

Half blind guy.. didn't Kessler still bring the fight? No excuses... Although I do agree.. Pascal should be ahead of both Ward and Froch.. but Ward and Froch are going to be mentioned next.. before Pacquaio.........

Pascal if he beats Hop will have wins over two p4p fighters. Very strong case for fighter of the year. I would vote for Martinez because of the scary KO

Winning every round against two good, much bigger, fighters is enough for him to make the short-list. No-one is suggesting he should win but I'd mention him before Adamek.

Right now Martinez. But like someone said PAscal if he looks impressive could be some competition to him.

First and foremost I am a Pacquiao fan, but I believe Sergio Martinez deserves to win Fighter Of The Year. Maybe if Clottey had bothered to open up and have a proper fight with Pac, Pac would've demolished him like he did with Margarito, and then there could've been some debate, but Martinez's wins over Pavlik and Williams were more sensational than Manny winning every round vs a negative Clottey, so I go with Sergio.

    1. Sergio Martinez, by dominating Pavlik and crushing Williams.

    Other honorable mentions:
    2. Lopez, for three straight stoppages over Luevano, Concepcion, and an awesomely entertaining fight with Marquez.

    3. Manny Pacquiao, for complete annihilations of Clottey and Margarito.

Pascal could make a case for Fighter of the Year following his victory over Dawson, contingent upon his beating Hopkins and the fashion in which he accomplishes said beating.

Katsidis could too, following his smashing of Kevin Mitchell, if he is able to defeat Juan Manuel Marquez in convincing fashion, which is not particularly likely - which is unfortunate, because I've been a "massive" Katsidis fan ever since I saw his fight with Graham Earl in 2007.
