The only other candidate in my mind is Pascal, and he'll need to dominate Hopkins to get it.

None of the guys you named are even worthy of 2nd or 3rd.

    1. Martinez - has it wrapped up
    2. Pascal- should he convincingly defeat Hopkins
    3. W. Klitschko- should he convincingly defeat Chisora
    4. Montiel- 3 impressive stoppages

To me, these are the clear cut front four and no one else is really worthy of mentioning.

To be honest, nobody else gets my consideration after Martinez. No point in listing second place to this award this year, IMO.

Actually I think Pascal could take it if he KO's Hopkins. But it's true that what Martinez has done this year is pretty amazing.

No, not because he won that title. But because he won it starting his career at 106, and winning that title as his 8th weight title. And winning it from someone who has a KO over your #1 choice. :deal

I believe Sergio will win it though. He does deserve it.

  8. Martinez stole that **** right from underneath Pacquiao. And it didn't help that Clottey was a ****ing *****.

Pascal if he beats B-Hop convincingly and Montiel deserve a mention, though it'll probably still go to Sergio

Klitschko has fought nobody.. its not his fault.. but still nobody nonetheless.. no epic war either.. I can't see why he would get a vote.. great fighter but won't even be mentioned for fighter of the year....

I vote for Martinez. After that maybe Pac. or Andre Ward.

I'm sure if Martinez fought the Margacheato that Pacman whooped.. it would have been Martinez KO Round2.. but still, credit to Pacquiao for the win.

Let's pretend Pascal beats Hopkins and compare his year to Martinez

Pascal beats Chad Dawson, Martinez beats Pavlik
Pascal beats Hopkins, Martinez beats Paul Williams

    Beating Hopkins > beating Pavlik

You can say Hopkins is older than the version that fought Pavlik, but Pavlik is also no longer the same guy who got dominated by Hopkins.

Undefeated true LHW Chad Dawson > Small MW Paul Williams who was pretty much even odds against Martinez.

Pascal clearly deserves it above Martinez and only the fact that Martinez is a more popular fighter would get him the nod.

I would actually agree with that logic.. but if Pascal barely gets by Hopkins.. he's not going to win it.....

But, like I said, Pascal deserved to be mentioned.. I completely forgot.:patsch

If Marquez had not been injured Juanma could have squeezed another fight in at the end of the year. If he had won that impressively against a quality opponent(John, Caballero, Gamboa etc.) then he would for sure be FOTY.

    Martinez deserves it though.
