I think a properly in shape Briggs has a early kO shot but that's it. If he's comin in at 275 and stand there like a statue he might as well just try out for Mr Olympia instead

Ruslan Chagaev is out with a Hep B infection so he can't. And Tony Thompson is supposed to be involved in a tournament for one of the belts..so if that is the case he's not available.

Nobody of much worth is going to be available until sometime in early 2008. So it really doesn't matter who he faces in the meantime. If he wants to get a big name on his record he should go for Toney. If he wants an easy fight he should go for Briggs(I know I'll get eaten alive in this thread for saying that :blurp.) If he wants to clean his record up he should pick Sanders. Other than that there isn't much out there currently.

Toney deserves it more than Briggs? How do you figure that one, he just tested positive for Steroids for the second time and almost lost his last fight to a nobody. Sanders is too old and hasnt been fighting anyone live. I think Briggs is the obvious choice with the rivalery they have.

I didn't say Toney has done anything in his last two fights to deserve a fight with Wladimir Klitschko. If you read what I wrote above, I said that if Wlad is looking for a big name to have on his record then Toney is the choice. In that regard Toney deserves it more than Briggs.Toney's last two fights were bad, just like Briggs' last two fights. The difference is I was more entertained by Toney-Peter 2 than either of Briggs' fights.

I also mentioned that IF Wlad wanted to clean up his record then he has to pick Sanders. I didn't say I wanted to see that fight at the moment. I don't think Sanders deserves the shot because he hasn't been near a title shot since 2004 where he got dominated by Vitali.

I don't think Wlad gives two shits about Briggs. Briggs has been the one shooting off for the longest time, and I don't blame him. A fight with Wlad is the biggest money fight you can get in the HW division right now. And especially coming off a loss he wants to get that shot.

I don't see how anyone can defend Briggs after back to back horrible performances. I'll be a Tua fan forever, but I don't hold onto illusions that he can do what he did way back in the Ike days.

Briggs was the WBO champion just recently he could KO Klitschko given the opportunity.

It will never happen, though I suspect it would be a great fight.

im a briggs fan, but he should not even try to step in the same ring w/wlad. excuses or not, his conditioning is terrible and this fight would not be a slugfest cause wlad unlike bigmen such as Lennox/Bowe/holyfield utilizes plenty of foot movement. How the hell is Briggs gonna catch Wlad who fights more like Ali than Lennox? This would be a brutal mismatch.

If this fight came off, I'd secretly bet my parents house on this one :yep

It's a shame cause if you watch briggs against lennox, he really had some things he could have really built upon. briggs needs to retire if his health situation can't get better but if he would just train down 25-30 pounds he could get ahold of another belt. most likely a pipedream though.

as for wlad's next opponent, id like him to fight huggybear, which would probably give Ledderman a stroke and then launch him into norman stone's lap :yep

i think i have a better chance of k'oing wlad then todays briggs, and im about 15 years younger then wlad... go figure that out... anyways i think wlad might as well wait for the winner of the evander/sultan fight, anyone else is a waste of our time and wlads honestly..
