He should retire after the Rahman fight.

It is not who he has to fight, cause who ever he beats they will be called over rated,,,,,,so it is how much longer does he need to fight at the #1 spot,,,,I say at least 3 more years maybe four, an he needs a KO in almost every fight, if he does that, that will put him past 50KOs an sixty wins, he also needs not to lose anymore, ,,,,guys like hays will be called dogs once there ten count over with in his fight with wlad,,,,,Wlad also needs to stick to the top ten, or his mandatory, which he been doing for 8 years now, give one or two fight,,,,,,,,,,,He a great boxer, so this should not be a hard challenge, i think he a p4p boxer right now,

point being - most of the guys on top, aside form Vitali, would do nothing for Wlad's legacy. the older guys on top are faded legacies from a previous era and the young guys have been too carefully matched and are not only untested but also unrecognized by majority of fans.
the heavyweight division is so talent poor past the top 20 guys that getting into the top 20 is not really an issue, but once they get there all they want to do is take on Wlad to their own peril. How can we expect a career defining fight against any of these guys if most of them have not yet defined their own careers.

Fighting Rahman is kind of pointless. Ideally for me, he'd fight Valuev now, who is unlikely to prove himself much more than he has already, although I do rate him.

Haye, Povetkin, and Solis could be important ones for him, but all of them need to do more beforehand, beating other up-and-comers like Arreola, current generation people like Ibragimov and Peter, and old-timers like Jameel McCline and Oliver McCall.

I think that there are people out there who could give his challengers enough resumé for him to get full credit if he beat them, but it's not certain that they will fight those guys before him.

    Vitali will probably fight Haye.

Wlad fight next week. Valuev in two weeks. Do you think that they could maybe arrange a fight for April or May 2009? The only problem would be that Wlad has to fight Povetkin by September 2009, and that Valuev has to fight Chagaev SOMEDAY.

He'll have to fight more than just one of them to acheive anything noteworthy.

I think he'll fight and take Povetkin out, while Vitali takes Haye on, and then Wlad will, once again, make an offer to King/Valuev for a unification...........

But as lacking of any merit as everyone else in the division is, Wlad can't build any lasting resume by merely fighting one of these three guys.

Wlad needs to fight as many good opponents as he can get to agree to fight him.....That said, I think King/Valuev will refuse the unification offer, once again. King knows Valuev will lose that one........
