Hearns was able to dispose of a lethal puncher like Cuevas within 2 rounds although it’s also known that Hearns himself can be laid out as well. Both Trinidad and Jackson were similar to Cuevas but like him they didn’t have the skills to match Hearns but they certainly had the power to knock him out ala Hagler and Barkley.

Between Trinidad and Jackson who would you say has a better chance at knocking out Hearns without getting stopped themself?

He'd lay them both out but Jackson would have the better chance for mine. He's more robust than Trinidad and can decimate you with either hand any second.

Jackson was a more explosive puncher than Trinidad was IMO. So I'd go with Jackson.

Always wanna go with the better overall fighter. Hearns SHOULD take them both, but Jackson was a bit quicker and maybe a little more resilient. I love all three, but Jackson stands a better chance at this.

The Hawk had a bigger punch against bigger men. He would have the best chance of stopping the Hitman. That being said, Jackson's chin was worse than Tommy's. Hearns would probably get Jackson first.

    Neither
    Hearns stops them both
To answer the question I give Jackson the better chance

I wouldn’t make either a favorite over Hearns but they both certainly had the power to do the job

Trinidad actually does have a good chance, Jackson was more one punch, Trinidad had combinations, Hearns against Jackson would able to stay behind the jab, and see the individual attacks coming from Jackson.

I’ve thought about this before… considering Gerald “Gman’s” proclivity towards all out aggression and how the rather rudimentary style of Barkley overcame Hearns what do you think of GM’s chances?

I doubt Jackson could win but if he did land anything worthwhile he’d turn Hearns and anyone else basically into dust…

I’ve always felt that the notion of Jackson’s chin being fragile glass have been grossly exaggerated. Not saying he had a better chin than Hearns but the fighters who have stopped him were good punchers themselves and it’s not like he was being constantly dropped or getting stopped by feather punchers. Being knocked out by McCallum, McClellan twice, Taylor isn’t anything to be ashamed of. Definitely not as fragile as Terry Norris.

Jesus, it was Norris I was thinking of! OK, ignore everything I've said in the history of my life. I still take Hearns but my confidence has waned a bit.

Trinidad at Welterweight would be live dog. Gotta favor Hearns based on his boxing ability but he doesn't have the size advantage he usually did. Steward would send him out to KO Tito before he warms up but there could be fireworks Trinidad had legendary power at Welterweight too.

Jackson would have a punchers chance.

I dont know if Trinidad ever comeback koed someone the way Julian Jackson did against Herol Graham while being on the retreat completely losing. Tito had to get his offense going, Jackson could clip someone with 1 shot at any second and they wouldnt get up. That said, in Jacksons fight with Terry Norris he carelessly dipped down and let Norris chop down with the right hand behind his ear. If Hearns landed a shot like that he would finish the fight early
