Who suits Usyk more stylistically, Dubois or Hrgovic?

Hrgovic stopped Dubois in the gym but Dubois has crazy power. George Foreman and Sonny Liston type thudding power according to Usyk's former trainer and now member of Dubois' camp James Ali Bashir. Bashir has worked with Lennox Lewis and Wlad among others and he said Dubois' power is right up there with them.

Dubois' ex-trainer Shane McGuigan said Dubois' one of the hardest punchers in the division and that he thinks he's the actual hardest (this was just the other day not when he was working with Dubois).

Moses Itauma who has sparred AJ and Big Joe Joyce among others said that Dubois gave him his hardest ever spar, that he hits extremely hard and that he's fast for a HW.

'I’VE BEEN one of Daniel’s main sparring partners and it’s been hard. Really hard. We’ve been training at high altitude in Spain (Grenada) and it’s not easy when you are at that altitude and have Daniel coming at you for round after round.

I have been in camp with Daniel since the start of May. We started in London and then came out to Spain at the end of June, early July. I’m one of the only original sparring partners who have made it this far. Daniel has been doing jobs on people. He’s been taking out sparring partners and sending them home. Daniel is a savage. He has been hurting people. It’s proper sparring. It’s a fight, simple as that. Whatever Daniel does, he gives it 100 per cent. That’s his attitude – and it makes it hard for his sparring partners! He doesn’t mess around.

Being hit by Daniel is like being hit by a train. Even when he hits you on the arms, it hurts. You still feel it when he’s wearing 18oz gloves and if he hits Usyk with those 10oz gloves on it will be good night. Daniel is a very good finisher. If he hits you, he hurts you and if he hurts you, he finishes you off.

Daniel has had top-quality sparring. We have had Olympians here and other quality southpaws who are giving him good rounds, making him think, making him work. Moses Itauma was out here for a couple of weeks and then he had to go back because he had a fight in Telford the other week. We do technical sparring as well as open sparring. There’s been more open sparring than technical sparring and Daniel has done a lot of rounds.

The open spars are four in, four out with three different sparring partners. I know people talk about Usyk’s fitness, but Daniel has a phenomenal engine as well. He’s been doing 12 rounds with three different sparring partners at high altitude for weeks. They can both maintain a high work-rate for 12 rounds, but the difference is, Usyk is a boxer and Daniel is a power puncher.

For me, the only heavyweights in the world who can beat Usyk are Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Daniel. Tyson has the size and the skills and Daniel and Wilder have the punch.

Johnny Fisher

"Daniel Dubois is probably the heaviest hitter I’ve ever been in with, he’s a very powerful puncher," Fisher told talkSPORT.

Big Joe Joyce says Dubois hits extremely hard, so hard he turned Joe into a slick boxing jabber who wanted no part of getting into exchanges with him.

Lots of HWs have said Dubois hits extremely hard.

Sure he didn't look great last time out but only one of those KDs was legit, the other two were due to his injured knee. I thought they were legit at first but when I rewatched it a bit later it was clear he voluntarily took a knee because his knee was badly injured.

Usyk is a year older now, hasn't fought in a year, and when you're facing someone way bigger and heavier than you with crazy power it only takes the slightest mistake. Hrgovic has an iron chin but he doesn't possess that kind of one shot savage power Dubois does.

I'm not convinced about that injury at all though. A torn ACL is so excruciating that you can't put any weight on that leg for weeks, let alone fighting a professional HW bout and winning it by KO. Dubois might have had some knee problems but it wasn't a torn ACL, I'm quite sure of that.

I'm not even sure the injury was caused by him being hurt from a punch. We know no punches landed for the second and third KDs but when you slow down the video to 0.25 it's not clear the left hand even lands or not for the first one. I'm not saying it didn't but it looks like it might of just missed

Hrgovic for sure and he might be way more motivated and in shape for the Usyk challenge. Dubois looked like crap against the southpaw Larena, and Usyk will have a field day.

Hrgovic. He is an underachiever fro sure but his talent ceiling is much higher than Dubois who's really a domestic level HW.
