I don't think Ward can make 160, can he? If he can make it without being drained or weakened than I would take him.
Not sure. 168 being the limit, you would think 8 lbs. wouldnt be that hard. Thats unless hes totally draining himself to get to 168.
Are you a newb? 8 pounds in boxing is alot of freaking weight to lose. Im guessing he is already losing a good 15-20 pounds to get down to 168. Its really hard to lose weight when u dont have much fat. I dont think he could get down to 160 safely so obviously Martinez but at 168 then Ward would beat him pretty bad. At the end of the day Ward is just the better and even bigger fighter.
168 then I like Martinez, but i think im gonna have to stick w/ Ward. Ward i think would fight like he did against Green.
two things: 1. 8 lbs is a lot of weight especially considering he's coming down to make the limit 2. wasnt he a lhw in the olympics? i'd be surprised if he can make the weight and even if he could...wouldnt be fair. two very talented fighters whose paths will never cross, even hypothetically given the weight disparity.
Yeah but Martinez wouldn't fight anything like Green. Green let Ward bring the fight to the inside and keep him against the ropes. Martinez wouldn't stay against the ropes and try and fight Ward on the inside, he'd move and try to box him.
I like Martinez as a fighter .. but he wouldn't have a chance in the world against Ward. If Ward isn't weight crippled at 160 then he stops Martinez in the mid-rounds. Horrible match up for Martinez .. complete shut out. Sergio isn't quick enough or long enough to land anything on Ward and not agile, athletic, or big enough to either avoid getting hit or bear the beating he'd receive to be around to hear a decision. Sergio had difficult fights with Paul and Kelly (largely due to their size advantage). Ward - with so many dimensions to his game - would have overwhelmed both of those guys. This would be a career shortening fight for Martinez ..
