Ive seen him on ESPN twice. Most recently in his dominating performance against bloated former Olympian Devin Vargas, who took the fight on 8 days notice. He stopped him in the sixth after a couple of kd's.

He's a big, strong guy with a good jab, but i cant see him doing much more than following V. Klit around for 12 rounds.

I don't even see him managing that. There's very little chance of this fight going the distance. Johnson doesn't have KO power like Peter, Gomez, Sanders or Arreola - fights where Vitali mainly boxed from the outside and threw long bombs set up by his jab, which in the middle rounds turns into a lead left hook around the guard. I expect Klitschko to spend a round or two on the outside to get a feel for how hard and fast Johnson hits and then turn it into a war much like the Lewis fight; except Johnson doesn't have the dynamite to keep Dr. Ironfist at bay.

You couldn't be further from the truth. Of course he's not going to turn it into a war, Vitali is far more cautious about getting hit these days than he used to be, not to mention his power's gone. He'll fight the way he always does because it plays to his strength's.

As sad as it is he is a top contender (second to Eddie Chambers). His only 2 wins of significance are over olympian (but achieved nothing as a pro) Devin Vargas (overweight) and a 40 something Bruce Seldon. He was scheduled to fight Odlainer Solis but pulled out when he heard Vitali wanted him. A win over Solis would put him right near the top IMO and would tell us more about him.

    no he isn't

he's only second to chambers in the US. povetkin and haye are both more legitimate contenders than johnson, and solis probably is aswell

Johnson is a decent fighter who is undefeated with out a test or worthy win. He has skills but not the tools to beat Vitali. He is very green and does not have one punch power, is not very fast, and has an untested chin. Vitali should stop this guy inside 9. I used to watch him on ESPN he was very frustrating to watch. He almost exclusivley thru jabs. He prided his jab yet it wasnt powerful or fast.

Yeah sorry I mean second to Chambers. I woulden't rate him as high as Povetkin or Haye but he isn't too far behind them.
