****, a year ago Mendoza was fighting Chad Dawson for Chad's belt. I guess Shumenov wasn't kidding when he said he wanted a title fast!

yeah his name came up after the griffin fight i like his schedual wished more fighters took his rout. i know you have to give fighters time to progress but he seemsvery confident in his skill to accept such a schedual.

I take it that Shumenov isn't planning to be boxing in 5 or 6 years time...

    Results????

I'll assume Chop Chop and David Banks beat their cans. And if they lost, well...big whoop. Banks is a never-will-be and Corley's ring ancient.

    But Shumenov-Mendoza has me intrigued!!

I see you've hit up the boxrec forums for info with no luck...I've tried looking anywhere that might've posted the results, but no dice here, either. Looks like we'll have to wait until tomorrow for news on it.

I blame the dramatic jump in suicide rates of Washington Huskies football fans from having Ty Willingham as their coach for this. :D

Apparently Shumenov won by UD. I don't know the exact scorecards but it was something like 8 rounds to 2 in Shumenov's favour.

''The scorecards if I remember correctly were all in the 8-2 round range which was pretty much spot on. Mendoza did more than just try to survive, but not ALOT more... He did press the action, particularly in the mid-late rounds, but not very effectively. For what it's worth, both fighters let it hang pretty good in the 10th, and there were some nice exchanges, with Shumenov in my opinion getting the slightly better of them''
