Man talk about a soft touch for Cotto's come back fight. This guys resume is flimsy to say the least.

This fight will not tell us much about Cotto's physical and mental state post Margarito.

I still think he should fight Baldomir. How about you guys?

Who would have been a better tune up fight for cotto?

Arum should have put him in against a durable non-stop puncher like Jesus Soto Karass who resembles Margo a bit. Putting Cotto in with guys like Gomez and Jennings before facing Margarito is bad preparation and shows his lack of faith in his fighter.

Jennings will be on the backfoot all night looking to counter and potshot with Cotto stalking him. Totally different style and will not prepare him for someone like Margo who is the polar opposite of Jennings.

I completely agree we need to know if he can box for 12 rounds, against a guy who can take his shots and keeps coming forward.

That type of fight answers questions not this bull**** fight against Jennings.

I hope that he puts up a good fight, and tests Cotto along the way.

i feel kinda sorry for the guy

i was reading an article on him in boxing monthly and it said how he lost two of his bro's stephen to leukaemia and raymond to a drug overdose. and just recently in october he lost his good mate neil hardy in a car accident.

i hope all is well with him and his fam and that he gets his much deserved payday in the cotto fight and hopefully comes out of it nice and healthy

Cotto will never recover mentally from the Margarito beating. I want to see Antonio avenge his loss to Paul Williams, Margarito was asking his promoter for the fight next year.

The worse part is even if he wins he won't get any credit for facing some unknown fighter from the UK. If he somehow manages to lose or look bad in victory the Margo match will no longer make any sense nor appeal to the general public on PPV no less.

On the up side Jennings probably has stamina to last 15 rounds running around the ring if he doesn't get hurt to the body or head. He's quite a bit taller with a bigger reach and likes to box so if he can avoid exchanges he could possibly counter Cotto all night with a Yuri Foreman impression.

If not JSK then even Lujan would resemble Margo's style more than Jennings in truth. Obviously Arum is out to reduce risk in this fight to near zero for Cotto. It would be absolutely hilarious if it backfired in his face though.

Jennings is a reasonable fighter. He's not a talentless can, the kid does have some good boxing skills and excellent stamina which could be important if he can just survive a while.

His major problem is going to be a lack of pop to discourage Cotto. He's also got quite a wirey thin frame, the body is an open target and Cotto needs no invitation...

He's definitely not as bad as Lockett. Lockett couldn't even spell jab.

I'm a Cotto fan for real but this fight pisses me of! the reason being that Arum is a greedy old ******* piece of ****.. He is doing this so that the rematch is safe for June 09 in the garden where ha can cash on it.. If somehow this backfires for whatever reason I will be very sad for Cotto because his career would probably be over or at least the big paydays and big fights but Arum will get a kick in the face and will stop using his fighters like that.. I agree that Jesus Soto Karass would've been a better fight and at least he would've resembled Margarito's style a bit more.. Ohh and on top of everything this fight is for the title which makes Cotto look bad because if he wins or whatever KO's the dude he won't get any credit for it and once more he fought for a vacant title against a nobody.. I hope it doesn't happen because I really want to se the rematch but what if somehow both Cotto and MArgarito lost their fights? LOL!! Nah I doubt it but you never know.. He better hold on the PAC real good just in case..

  12. If Jennings lasts to round 10 & beyond, which I think he will, I'll be incredibly proud.

Baldmoir is the pefect chose. because to be real Margarito is just a taller Baldmoir...THATS IT!!! so fight Baldmoir that resembles Margarito as close as it gets.
