I'd say Eddie Chambers. Too bad that he is so (lazy, poorly conditioned, whatever)

Honestly I'd say, in no particular order:

    Chris Arreola
    Eddie Chambers
    Joe Mesi
    JD Chapman
    Tony Thompson
    Shannon Briggs
    Mike Mollo
    Tye Fields

add a few more names if you'd like, I'm sure there are more contenders out there.

Indeed. And he's old to boot. If Thompson is the best the U.S. has to offer, we're in BIG trouble. :scaredas:

Don't worry guys; Eric Fields may put the US back on the heavyweight map. I want to see more of him before I start throwing his name around with contenders out there, but from what I have seen in the guy he could/should be a monster

That's a convenient explanation for heavyweights. Maybe cruiserweights too, but what about jr. middle to light heavy? All the best American fighters are OVER THE HILL (except for pavlik taylor and dawson) with few promising prospects on the horizon in these weight classes. Lower weight classes are definitely moving towards the foreign dominance that we're seeing at heavyweight.
