The reason why i asked the 1st question was because IMO Hagler and Leonard both are legends. They both have impressive resumes, both were very skillfull and achieved a lot. Its not easy picking who is the better figher by resume and skill. For instance we can say Winky is better than Vargas because of skills and achievements (even though he lost his fight against Vargas). But with Haglar and Leonard its more difficult. Thats why i think the fight showed IMO who was the better boxer.

Put them in a 15 round fight with a legitimate size ring and it looks worse than the Camacho fight.

Hagler won, no doubt about it.

right on dude. those pity pat flurries apparently looked impressive among his fanbase who mistook it for real punches. and it was not effective at all and did very little to stop hagler from swarming all over him.

he was just trying to steal the round with those pity-pats, most of which landed on haglers gloves, and thats all of it.

well baby, it is effective! a hell lot effective than leonards pity pat flurries. that leonard was backing most of the fight says a lot about haglers effective aggression.

youre damn right here my sexy baby! people who mistook those pity-pats for real punches were nothing but ignorant amateur bystanders who dont know a **** about boxing and real punches. and sure, those pity-pat flurries, no matter how impressive they were in the eyes of his gullible, cretinous, know-nothing fanboys, were INEFFECTIVE as most of which landed on haglers gloves and did very little to change the pace of the fight

one judge got it right though.

    I had Hagler winning.

Look, fight was in the states, had U.S. judges and a very pro Leonard crowd that went nuts every time he threw a punch.

Hagler got no love. He had a look on his face like he was frustrated at times, while Leonard had a look of determination in his. This does a lot to the psychology of a viewer.. I watched the fight and thought Hagler was dominant in the ring for the majority of the time, and landed some great shots.. While Leonard was pretty much running away and throwing a flurry here and there.. *shrug*

I have watched the fight several times.
    Hagler was the "Boss".

Hagler did look like a zimmer pusher, a very different fighter from Mugabi

You probably believe that DLH won comfortably against PBF, of that his coming forward was something significant; There will always believe tool that find this sort of thing impressive, even judges. But the fact of the matter is that Ray Leonard was gloving Haglers head and body all night and Hagler was swinging and missing. You're stupidity / poor scoring ability has no impact on that historical boxing fact.

The thing is i'm not even a
"Leonard Fan". I do rate him in the top 15 all time, but i think that everybody does. I'm just shocked that there is controversy over who won this fight, now that I've seen it. If Hagler won that fight than scoring methods are so disgraceful that boxing is a sport I love.

I scored it for Hagler but had little problem with the decision, just the 118-110 Guerra scorecard.

That's absurd. It was a close fight.

Hagler looked poor against Roldan though. Looking slower, getting hit with way more shots than usual. I thought it was probably the worst he looked in any successful title defense.

In the Ring issue celebrating the 20th anniversary of Hagler-Hearns, they showed old articles and one of the big questions after the Roldan fight was if Hagler was slipping. Then Hagler looked very good in teh next fight in the rematch with Hamsho.

I have the fight 7-5 for Hagler after scoring it about 10 times.....and came up with a draw once out of the ten

It was a very close fight imo, I just think Marvin gave too many early rounds away, and had Leonard winning it 7-5 I think, well it was 20 years ago! It was a massive event btw, with SRL making a much heralded comeback. Maybe Marvin was too confident of winning beforehand.
