    Don't laugh....just hear me out...

Paul Smith has looked a lot more controlled in his last 2 fights. Fair enough they where against pretty much nobodies but the way he fought and the way he got his punches off was not typical of the Paul Smith of the past 3 or 4 years. He looks a lot cleaner and more aware. Plus he's stopped lunging in with the right hand.

Obviously Groves has the edge when it comes to training but im thinking it might not be a bad bet throwing the odd tenner on a smigger KO.

    Any thoughts? :think

if it's a tenner you dont mind losing.

Groves isnt world class and never will be but hes a solid euro class, smith is domestic class.

groves being only one level ahead means there is a chance of an upset, but it's not likely

He has looked better as of late, but like you said, it's because he is fighting nobodies. Groves knocks him out quicker than Degale did. Anything less, and Groves looks bad IMO

Smith said he was going to middleweight after De Gale

He weighed in 166.5 for that fight on saturday, and i think that tells you a lot

I think this fight depends on Groves. If Groves does what he did against DeGale and fights off backfoot he may create his own problems. Smith will come forward and maul with him on ropes and make it into a scrap. Groves should stand this fight middle of ring and use his superior punch variation and power to win fight but who knows? he may stick with boxing off backfoot.

Smith's decent no doubting that and he's got to focus and not let heart get best of him and he may make this a harder nights work for Groves.

I really dont think Groves knocks him out, simply because Groves' punches are too long, he gets little power behind them. Smigga has a great chin and will take everything Groves has. If it goes to the cards then Groves takes it but I think if theres gonna be a KO it will be in Smiths favour. This is the result im betting on!

Smith has been putting his punches together a little better on the inside recently and seems more relaxed... but Groves will still win.

This is what im talking about :good

Smigga looks a lot more in control and looks like the experienced fighter that will give Groves more than enough to chew on. I mean how does a fighter go out and fight so effectively after weatching his baby brother getting sparked out a few minutes before? Looks a helluva lot like the old 2002 Paul Smith recently!

Groves in no way gets knocked out. Anderson is a much bigger puncher, and he couldnt put Groves away. I also dont think Groves will ever be world class. Degale will tho (10 pages?)

If Groves fights stupid like he did against Anderson then he's got a chance. But he won't he's learnt from that fight and won't make those mistakes again. He should be able to box Smith and break him down like DeGale did.

Come on its common knowledge that Anderson would have if he hadnt gassed.

Not sure. I definitely dont think Groves will have an easy night though.
