Who thinks Bob Papa is at least a decent commentator?

He's still more interesting then the announcers on ShoBox (no disrespect to former RING editor Steve Farhood intended). It's funny that how Tessatore has kept me missing Papa one bit from ESPN Friday Night Fights. I just hope he doesn't pull a similar run to premium cable.

 

I put that on the production crew as much as Papa, they gotta be in his ear and straighten him out....It can happen.

 

Bob Papa has a voice that drips of "I'm only doing this for the money." He seems bored in general...almost like he's being FORCED to do this.

Compare that to a guy like Kellerman who while he's not great, seems to do this because he generally loves boxing.

 

Papa was decent on FNF. He's being brought down some by Flummox and the boy wonder.

 

PAPA is fair i like Atlas better, he is more insightful and knows the sport better..

 

I agree with Jim Bagg. Bob Papa does look like cross between 80's sitcom puppet ALF and Al Pacino. I also agree that Papa seems to know almost nothing about the logistics of boxing when he commentates. He's been doing this for 10 or 15 years and the guy always comes off as a replacement, who usually calls golf or darts or some ****.

 

Papa is good/okay.

Kellerman is terrible, they may aswell hand pick some nuthugger from one of the numerous Boxing sites, hand him a mic and stick him on the air, because there would be no difference.

HBO should of never sacked Roy Jones, he is without question the most knowledgable Boxing [url]analyst[/url] they have ever had.

PS The guys from Showbox are pretty good too imo.

I take it you have never seen Simon Brown v Vincent Pettway or Hopkins vs Mercado 2 ? Mike Tyson is a bumbling idiot when a mic is put infront of him, no disrespect to him, but as a broadcaster he sucks.

One of the worst ive heard.
