I definitely agree with you on that! He fought like a younger fighter....he came forward most of the night....i didnt think he'd be able to keep up the pace all the way to the end...but he proved me (and im sure a fair few other people) wrong, big time!

come on guys, in no country in the world a foreign fighter comes in there, boxes the hometown champion and gets 2 knock downs and than wins the fight. its everywhere like this, canada usa (oscar vs sturm or foreman vs schulz .....) germany........

Germany yes.....i never thought Canada was as bad....and no that decision was horrible...Hopkins won that fight....he made Pascal look bad....and he outpunched him and outboxed him and landed a lot more punches....i mean when was the last time Hopkins threw more punches than his opponent?

You'd expect a win even by a point for Hopkins...

foreman vs schulz was like hopkins playing the foreman role and pascal the role of schulz. foreman actually outlanded schulz in the fight and was the aggressor coming forward just as hopkins did last night.

I thought he probably did enough to pull it out, and he certainly outboxed Pascal for, as it turned out, the majority of the fight. But can't really complain at the decision as Hopkins had a lot to overcome possibly being four rounds down and the two knockdowns. The 12th was also a toss up. It was an admirable comeback, and it would have been fitting for Hopkins to have gotten the decision, but boxing is scored by rounds and not by seconds or minutes won. The only way to overcome that is to let them fight 30 minutes non-stop like in the old UFC/Pride days.

Which if the KD in the first round had been scored a punch to the back of the head it would have been a 1 point victory. Let me say honestly I didnt see the fight but everywhere ive read seems to make it sound like it was a clear cut punch to the back of the head. If thats true the ref screwed Hopkins more than the judges.

if theres a rematch Hopkins will win decisively as i doubt the flash knockdowns will happen again!

Pascal will be damaged goods after a 2nd fight! Just like Taylor.

Only in hometown you can get a knockdown from a punch behind the head. In reality, Hopkins won the first round.

Easily, 115-111 and it wasn't hard to score at all. From round 4 to round 12 Pascal got schooled. Hopkins took 90 points, Pascal 81. Pascal took the first 3 rounds and took 30 points vs. Bernards 25 thanks to two knockdowns, the first of which I would have ruled a slip/illegal blow personally but that's life.

Bernard got robbed. It wasn't hard to score, the rounds weren't close.
