You can afford gassing out against someone at Elbiali's level (who gassed out as well), but Jean knows he can't afford that against any top10/20 opponent. Only if he could get major money fight I'd see him return. Or maybe over a couple of years needing money after bad investments or something simular.
that's honestly just how he fights in spurts. he could have went 10. he wasnt missing punches he landed basically everything he threw, his man had nothing left. people say bad stoppage but that's because they wanted to see knockdowns. The fight was already over Elbiali had nothing left a legit stoppage was coming in 10 seconds which would have been nice to see, there would be probably a double retirment if that happened. however I dont think the kid comes back from that he looked out classed by someone who is yes a top 10 LHW but he isnt top 6. him vs Stevenson would do great domestically and Pascal did beat Stevenson twice in the ammys.
I hope not... That's as close to a fairy tale ending to a solid career that he can probably achieve. Unless he can secure a big fight with the Pimp in Canada or a rematch with Bute it should be time to call it a day. Won't blame him for going back on his word if those fights can be made in his backyard.
