Conventional wisdom seems to be that the only antidote to Wlad is power, and that Povetikin is not ready. I see it different. Povetkin may not have one punch KO power, but he is a good vlume/attrition puncher like Holyfield. Also, he has shown terriifc stamina over ten. Wladdy has improved his stamina, but at his huge size, its always going to be weakness. If Povetkin has a chin that can take Wladdy's punches, this could turn into something like an Ali-Frazier or Holyfield-Bowe series, with a smaller pressure fighter getting inside on a good bigger man in a battle of wills.
Povetkin is too green IMO, though I think he will put up a more competitive fight than Iggy. Povetkin's chin will be tested, I just think the blitz tactic is his best method of beating Wlad, unless you have a great chin like a Brewster where you could eat some punches and hope Wlad wears out down the stretch. I think Povetkin got a chance, but not a great one. I give him a 25% chance of winning, I just hope he could take a punch.
Me...Povetkin has a huge potential and a chance to win a UD against a guy like Wlad Klitschko...If he keeps doing what he's doing... the endurance / stamina combined with his combos....doesn't matter if he's the smaller guy...he can beat him.. but of course , all of this is irrelevant right now... Let's first see what he's capable of against Eddie Chambers.
