I keep hearing all this **** that Marquez schooled Pacquiao and **** but honestly it was a really close fight. Marquez just surprised everybody by making it that close. Also, Idk if it was just me but I think Pacquiao seemed to dissapoint by refusing to exchange with Marquez. Anyways.... So who here besides me thought this was a closer fight than what we keep reading on ESB?
It really is hard to take anyone seriously who didn't think it was a close fight. Harder still for those who called it a robbery. But you get a sense who the more rational posters here are on ESB based on how they saw this fight.
It was a close fight, but one I had JMM winning clearly. While several of the rounds were very competitive, I still had JMM winning 7 or 8. There is such a thing as a close but clear decision, and people forget that.
Good point. That's why I don't have a problem with people saying JMM won all 3 or Pac won 2 or watever. The problem is people calling these fights robberies. You know what I mean?
+1 I feel the same way. Was it a robbery? NO. Was it a close fight? Yes. Did I have Marquez clearly winning? Yes. To me this is almost how alot of people (Mostly Floyd haters) had ODLH losing a SD to Floyd was absurd because oscar wasn't effective throughout the entire fight but when you look at it anytime he threw punches, whether they landed or not, the crowd just screamed
Says the impartial man with the Pacquiao avatar. :nut It was at times competitive but overall Manny got taken to school. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfBmqlO6rh4[/ame]
was close. still amazed that a lot of people have JMM winning 10 or more rounds which shows what kind of trash is on these boards.
I had it 115-113 Marquez, but it wasn't that close. Marquez won all of his rounds big, and Pacquiao merely nicked his IMO.
People throw out the word "robbery" too often and easily nowadays. A bad decision is a bad decision (Pac vs. JMM III) but a robbery is something else altogether (Lara vs. Williams). I've disagreed with many decisions over the years. Sometimes I can see a fight going either way; this was not one of those times. It was a close fight, but JMM clearly won.
