Agreed. I was just using Lara vs. Williams as an example of a real robbery. Bad decisions suck but the debate they foster, to me, is a huge part of why I love boxing. Even when a fight is done and over, it's not done and over. Everybody can be their own judge; no other sport has that. I had the Hagler vs. Leonard talk with my old boss all the time. I wish judges were more objective, but I enjoy the debates.
I watched the fight exactly once and I kept it muted. I did it round by round and tallied up when I was done and was somewhat surprised to have a draw. I did give Pac a round that I had a very hard time choosing a winner (the official judges split on that round as I recall) so for me Pac could not have won, but JMM could have. Close? Definitely.
I feel sorry for Jinki, she has to fight off a lot of nuthuggers when she wants to.... ah forget it lol. I'm not blaming Manny he can't help the cheerleading and crowd reaction especially when they booed him at the end. I blame him for not fighting like a BOXER. He was just too wild(usually is) and paid for it.
Well said. :thumbsup Sad thing is, it's always those types that make the most noise. Attention whores I guess.
Last time I scored I had it that. Not unreasonable to have it that way Pacq was just too wild and ineffective while JMM was controlled and had the fight going his way. Pacq really was looking for his shots while JMM found his naturally. To each his or her own though every scorecard must be objective and have effective aggression for their criteria in order to be legitimate.
Honestly, many rounds were difficult to score. Many were close if you're being honest. Just depends on who you gave it to. :thumbsup But whether or not PAc was wild in his punches (which I disagree on), he still out threw, out landed, and marked up JMM's face like nothing else. Guys who only win a few rounds rarely have that on the other guy.
Jmm kicked his ass in general but on points a draw - JMM won his rounds big, Pac nicked his rounds on aggression and workrate
Odd thing is, in the thread made on which rounds JMM clearly won, very few who had JMM winning, agreed on the rounds he supposeldy clearly won. Go figure. But that's ESB I guess.
i thought jmm won 8-4 116-112 but it was close because no one really dominated any rounds. a lot of close rounds.
The fight is won on rounds not who looks better at the end and JMM always looks battered after every fight. Out threw means nothing if they're not landing which most people fail to realize(I'm not saying you do but I'm saying in general). Pacq DID land but I don't think he landed near enough to win or even make the fight close. That's imho, I go for controlled technicians but if someone landed the cleaner punches throughout they should be the winner which I think applies for JMM in the third fight. I understand scoring can be subjective but the criteria I said before should apply to every scorecard.
