118-110 is far more realistic than 115-113

Thats what I used to think but I'm not so sure of that after watching Mayweather's performance vs Pacquiao.

Its astonishing to me why people criticize Pacquiao's performance in that fight but say nothing of Mayweather's performance.
Seems like I'm one of the very few people in this forum who points to Mayweather's constant clinching vs Pacquiao.
I mean really, it was constant, truly up their with one of John Ruiz' finest clinch fests.

Going into the fight my sentiments were that Mayweather was going to be to quick and instantly get off counters when Pacquiao advanced toward him. I mean if a slower fighter both of hand and feet like Marquez could do it, Mayweather would do it

So Pacquiao is not an easy fighter to figure out, so when Mayweather was clinching from the outset I was thinking it would take him a few rounds to figure Pacquiao out.
Figuring Pacquiao out and getting out of clinch mode never came as Mayweather never got off that mode for the entire fight.
The clinching was so exessive my thinking as I was watching the fight was, "if I'm the referee I would have allready warned Floyd for exessive holding and threatened to deduct points if it continued. But nothing from the ref, not even a warning.

There was really nothing Pacquiao could do with Mayweather's clinching, Mayweather was to big and strong for Pacquiao to wrestle out of the clinches. Pacquiao needed a ref that would enforce the rules so he was out of luck there.

As for the fight the way it was let to happen, Mayweather imo embarrassingly did barely enough to eek out 7 or 8 of the rounds with a punch or two here and there before he would initiate the clinch.
Neither of them scored effectively so it was somewhat difficult trying to give credit to him for effective scoring.

I've watched it once since it happened without even attempting to score, just to watch it again and all that was running through my head was , "what an embarrassment of a fight.that was supposed to be a Superfight."
I was really more dissapointed with the quality of this Superfight than I was of the DLH-Trinidad fight, and I think thats saying something.

Having witnessed this fight I have to say that its very possible that a healthy prime Pacquiao bloodgeon's Mayweather at a more suited weight for Pacquiao, say 135 lbs.
Mayweather imo had a difficult time trying to acclamate himself to Pacquiao's zany angles and that could be the difference in a weight class where strenghth becomes less of a factor.

In no way did he get schooled All Floyd did ,as he always did, run away, dance grab like a limpet. He never could FIGHT !!! That debacle was decided before they ever left the dressing room. Pac was robbed of any chance he had when they suddenly denied him his previously agreed to Toradol. NSAC claimed Pac never ticked the box saying he was injured??? They KNEW he was hurt. Anyway when did Floyd apply for a TUE for his 750 ml of saline he was caught red handed receiving ILLEGALLY!!!!!!!! breaking THREE of NSAC's own rules in doing so. What was the NSAC reaction???? Issue this BS statement " Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong we will not be investigating" !!!!!! When did he apply for a TUE ?? he didn't Floyd didn't have to the NSAC issued him a retroactive TUE 3 weeks later. That "fight" should have been stricken from the records & Floyd held accountable. If a blatant cheat is your hero you certainly are no honest boxing fan

Floyd did what I expected him to do, just enough to get a clear win. It was up to Pac to make the fight and he never did. As posted above, Mayweather never had to leave first gear in the fight. Floyd is just as quick if not quicker than Pac and can stay in front of him to negate Pac’s angles. With Mayweather’s length and boxing ability, he is simply a bad matchup for Pac. At 135 it is a worse fight for Pac. Mayweather was sitting down on his punches at that weight and Pac had not yet been “chastened” by Marquez’s right hand. Mayweather probably stops Pac at 135 imo.

How do you score a fight 118-110 when all Floyd did was run & hold like a mini octopus. He knew Pac couldnt catch him when he was fighting in pain after being denied his promised pain killer at the last moment
Thisis one of boxings biggest ever black eyes it killed the sport as a legitimate combat sport . Don't let me see you claim to be a real boxing fan again if you accept this as a legitimate fight & win.

You dont think Mayweather was exessively clinching Pacquiao?
You're fine with referee's not warning fighters when holding becomes exessive?

If Mayweather never got out of first gear, why the exessive clinching?????????????????????????????

You clinch when you don’t want to engage. If you can control the fight that way, you do it. It was up to Pac to be offensive since he was supposed to be the offensive fighter in the fight. If Pac had pressed the fight harder maybe Mayweather would have had to up his game. Mayweather’s right hands in the early part of the fight caught Pac’s attention and seemed to make him overly cautious.

Here we go again You worship a blatant cheat & cannot find a legitimate excuse for him all you clowns can do is bring up Margarito AGAIN & AGAIN!! NOTHING was proven against Margarito all the CSAC had were Richardsons " PLASTER BLOCKS" ludicrous claim & the CSAC rep that watched Tony's hands wrapped, passed & signed off on them as legit, suddenly at the hearing when Tony applied for his licence to be reinstated, he claimed to have seen " white plaster like substance" smeared on them. ?? Strange huh ??
If they had anything on Tony theyd have indicted him, they didn't, they couldn't, all they had was suspicion & a pack of lies. Yet clowns like you say he was proven guilty in court he never had any trial. All the CSAC did was suspend Tony's boxing licence in Ca saying they SUSPECTED him of TRY TO CHEAT !!!!
Floyd was caught red handed CHEATING !! but was pardoned by the NSAC No wonder boxing is at it lowest ebb ever

How many ko’s did Margarito get after his plastered wraps were confiscated? He got the fleas beaten off him in his fights with Mosley, Pac and Cotto.

Yep, what an embarrassment of a fight. Especially for a guy who calls himself "the greatest ever". Fans fight to the death over Sugar Ray Leonard beating Hagler and say he ran and didn't win, but those same people will say Mayweather won this fight easy going away. It would be interesting to watch it again, but don't feel like wasting it on that joke of a fight.
