I gave Pacquiao 3 rounds and in one of those rounds he only won because PBF didn’t throw many punches. Fight was lopsided for Mayweather.
Plus Floyd had bragged before the fight " I'm going to be super aggressive in this fight I'll probably knock him out" ROFLMAO!! He sent everyone to sleep as normal. When your own Father / trainer calls you a coward for fighting scared on live TV Jeez you guys STILL support the coward
I think Floyd won 8-4 but there is a certain bias when an opponent doesnt clearly give a beatdown they give the round to Floyd automatically for avoiding a combo, 1/2 soft punches and clinching. There is truth in that it would be more beneficial to the sport if the fighter wanting to fight gets favoured if its close in rounds. Im all for hitting without getting hit but you cant be on your bike all night, pot shot, clinch and it be labeled a masterclass while old men punch buttons. Hopkins vs Pavlik is a masterclass like that. Floyd vs Pac was boring and terrible for boxing unfortunately.
I think there's some truth to what you're saying. The supposed pure boxer usually gets the benefit of uneventful rounds simply for stereotypical reasons, the destroyer (in this case Pacquiao) is'nt battering and hurting his opponent in the manner people have become accustomed to seeing him doing against most opponents. Its like its up to the stalker to land and hurt, that if he does'nt quite do it like in previous fights, the round automatically is gifted to the percieved pure boxer which in this case was Mayweather, even if the percieved boxer did'nt do jack **** himself.
I really don't know what came about to this fight? I was anticipating action yet my crib was loaded, the boys and the boozers downstairs with my brother, and upstairs with the fam and relatives. We were all boasting our Manny love , cracking jokes for entertainment lol like what do you call a bag that Manny hits? A.: a pansit (punchit lol). I try to not get caught up in the hesay shesay about Floyd juicing, BUT I do know that Freddie Roach was and is embarrassed for this loss. Everybody loves a villian. They pay for him to lose lol. I still think this fight was worth the buck, but at the end of the day it was ppv worthy.
I was talking overall not only this board, it's something that has been said but I don't feel it to be accurate, In fact just go visit around other boards, yt, reddit, Twitter, Facebook & you will see the majority of it being full largely of insults & false accusations with a very few low percentage of actual favoritism especially over Floyd as you mentioned.
That's how it's always been especially regarding Floyd as many have echoed the same sentiments regarding that automatically happening.
I wanted Pac to win this fight real bad, but I remember it being a clear Floyd win. Only ever watched it once due to it being a bag of ****. Maybe one day I'll force myself through it and try to score it properly. I knew alot of casuals that watched that fight, hell it put most of them off of boxing for some time, but have never heard anyone claim that Pac won outside of this forum. Just taling about this fight is giving me flashbacks of how dissapointing it was.
