I was wondering. the commenatators on the june 6th friday night fight were talking about a fighter who was threatening to pull out of a fight last minute on a future card. and they were suggesting they shouldn't do this or they won't ever be on tv again. does anyone know who this was/. maybe it was already talked about. but its been nagging at me. had to come on and look for some answers.
Got to admit i'm very interested to know who it was as well. Andy Raymond sounded really pissed off when he was talking about it on fox.
Have a feeling it was Talipeau vs Yannick because 24 hours later the matchup was removed from Boxrec.
Lets not make excuses for Dib's fight not being televised. The date cant be given by FOX on such short notice. FOX has FNF the week later with Zappavigna in a IBF eliminator. If Dib's camp scheduled it for a month or 2 later or informed Andy Raymond/FOX Sports of their intentions by late April this issue would not have arose. Professionalism is what hurt his camp!
Is that 100% correct m8? sounds right to me but i had another theory, that being that PPV cant sell Dib as he is not popular and would not generate enough PPV buys, even if they were given enough time would they really put it on and risk loosing money? he doesnt have a very good record with them as it is, with a couple of incidents blemished on his TV appearances. I would have thought they would have stayed as far away from it as possible. Im just thinking of the coin these boys are gonna loose, the bid wouldnt have been chump change and they wont recover it on sales at the door or sponsors, they would have been stupid NOT to approach PPV with the kinda money being spent. Something isnt right if they havent worked out how to recoupe the money and included PPV/Mainevent. imo they knew Mainevent wouldnt put it on.
