??? Horrible game plan... Canelo is a decent BOXER, but you can't outbox Floyd. No way, his best bet was to pressure, throw a lot of punches from round 1, show no respect and impose his size n power. Stupid game plan by his trainer...

He doesn't have the temperament to fight that way and has never fought that way. If his only chance was to be way bigger than Floyd, that shows you he's not a great fighter.

I actually liked the gameplan, ya'll just wanted to see "pressha pressha pressha!!!" Canelo boxed and stuck to his gameplan as I knew he would do. I'm still a fan and don't "jump ship" cause he lost.

He tried to follow Oscar's blue print. Problem is, Oscar made Canelo believe he was better than Oscar. Canelo is and will never be better than DLH.

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. was saying this before the fight, that Canelo had to apply pressure and throw alot of punches from the very beggining.
He had said that if Canelo allowed Mayweather distance and room to breathe, Canelo could not outbox Mayweather from Center ring.

I thought Canelo did well late when he applied some pressure and let his hands go to the body of Mayweather.
Imo I think it showed that if a fighter did this from the very beggining, Mayweather can be beat.

The problem with Canelo is that he did'nt feel and does'nt have the confidence he could do that for the full 12 rounds.

I dont think Canelo feels his stamina is at the elite level and he's shown that in his last couple of fights against both Trout and Mayweather where he only fights in spurts.

Mayweather can be had by a bigger fighter who's willing and able to apply pressure and throw punches for the full 12.
Mayweather knows this himself and its exactly the reason why he stayed away from Margarito who'd be looking to hunt him down from the first bell and willing to eat punches in the process.

Thats the formula to beat Mayweather. Keep him on the defensive where his offense suffers and it does when his opponent is taking the fight to him.

Canelo doesn't have stamina to be a pressure fighter, he has to pace himself carefuly to go 12 rounds. He's shorter than Mayweather and has shorter reach, so there's no size advantage there. His power isn't spectacular either. He did his best but was beaten by a phenomenal fighter, there's no shame in that. I don't see any way how he could possibly beat Mayweather.

Oscar did. Then we he realized what he said, he knew he had to go to rehab.

I know he had to be lied to by someone.
He did try it though, most have tried the pressure approach.
Have to give Alvarez Props for believing in himself that much, but dumb game plan.

There was a time or two where he tried to counter mayweather with his right hand.. once or twice it came.. very close.. and looked like it would have hurt.

If he was faster or could anticipate better.

If he listened to Oscar he would have fought like he did. I expected Alvarez to stand in the middle and pause while looking to counter and possibly outbox him which is why he lost. To beat Mayweather you need to fight like Oscar, keep throwing all the way and stay in his face all night throwing punches wherever you can(shoulders, head, body, chest). Pausing against Mayweather means losing.
