Always wondered how or why this happens, taking someone's sole I mean. Is their loss really that traumatic for it to show in their next fight? The only won I can really think of is Marquez/Pacquioa, KO6. Other than a KO though...
I think a heavy KO loss especially for a previously undefeated fighter or one who has only lost close points decisions can be devastating for their mind-set and future fights. That's why I'm calling into question the rule that if a fighter goes on to good things after he's beaten, does that mean the victor is better or worse for not damaging him so much as too prevent it? Like if Froch had beaten Bute on a close points decision and Bute had then beaten other top SMWs then does that mean Froch is better than we would think of him currently? What about SRR? Randy Turpin ended up in a paupers grave a few years after beating Robinson, does that degrade or enhance the aura of SRR?
How did he take Manny's soul you moron. Manny's only loss since is to the best fighter of his generation. Look at Marquez's record after their fight. Loss to Bradley and dropped against a shot Alvarado!
It appears he took Zab's soul. Like you said he definitely should've retired awhile back but damn. They use to call him a ****roach but i think paulie finally finished him. The post fight interview you could tell Zab was embarrassed af, he lost on home turf to a white boy feather duster.
