Which fighter recieved the least amount of punishment and damage throughout their career...due to great defensive abilities or whatever? Obviously I'm talking about well known fighters who had a full career...not the odd pug who decides to call it a career after 3 or 6 fights, etc.,

Probably McRubedoo, who was rarely seen taking any punches over a hell of a lot of fights.

Mike McCallum didn't take too much considering some of the guys he fought. Good defense.

My spontaneous choice. Kalambay, Curry and Toney got in some good licks on him, but he never took real punishment, not even in his last fights.

Ricardo Lopez is another. Sal Sanchez, but he of course had his career cut shot. PBF haven't really taken serious punishment yet.

I agree, and to his credit, Mike did not take many clean punches in his career. The Curry punch or Jackson stands out and maybe when Jones fought him I think round 12 he was stunned, but I don't remember him being hurt much or hit clean. It is amazing. Great anticipation and economy defensively and offensively, and timing to pour it on exactly when he needed to.

Yep, to continue the love fest, I think this really shows the extent of his greatness. Even defensive greats like Benitez and Duran became quite hittable when their speed and legs left them, but McCallum was hard to hit clean even for great fighters all the way through.

Mayweather, Calzaghe, Otkke - some may cite level of competition, overall ability and defence of Mayweather/Ottke helped too

Mayweather springs to mind, apart from him people might think its an odd choice but il say Naz,never got a bad injury in the ring,no broken nose, jaw, only ever had a bloody nose maybe once, infact apart from the Kelly,Snachez and Barrera fights he wasnt hit much, the odd shot or flash knockdown..

Lennox Lewis, despite being KO'ed twice, seems to have held up really well after he retired. Whenever I see him doing an interview, he speaks just as clearly as did before he started his pro career. And he looks healthy/in decent shape.

Waiting for someone to say James Toney. Sorry, but despite his defensive craft, he took a shitload of punishment. That guy needs subtitles these days. :(
