Mayorga could take a big shot before Tito ruined him that night, and Forrest landed monster shots on him in the 1st fight and he didn't blink...shots that had Mosley stumbling around the ring like a rag doll...and Winky doesn't get hit flush, or with punches he doesn't see...i'm not saying Tito will be some massive hitter at 170, but if he lands flush he can hurt anyone 168-below...

I am still in shock that anyone thinks this will be competitive. If Tito wanted money, he should have fought DLH. I am SURE he would get at least 15 million for it.

Instead, he will get a good payday to go along with this ass whuppin, and yet another retirement. :bart

first of all mayorga has one of the TOUGHEST, HARDEST chins in boxing! when he fought tito he had never been knocked out. tito came and knocked his ass out. for him to do that he had to have some kind of power! as far as winky, of course he would say that, tito hit nothing but forearm all night long.

He landed flush on BHOP, and never hurt him. But BHOP is made of steel, I'll give you that.

I'll be the lone ranger on this one... Just because I have to stick with my boy. Tito knocks Roy out in 7. Remember what Glen did to Roy, he campaigned at 160 or lower for at least 13 bouts. Anyone feel Glen will be faster\better then Tito at 170? Even though he fought Roy at 175.... Oh yea, 5-7 years ago, this would be easy RRJ=UD.

Glen Johnson would kill Tito at 175 or 168. Tito is NOT a light heavy. He is a jr. Middleweight, and he can make some big fights there that he might have a prayer of winning. :deal

I'll admit that I don't know **** about **** here, these guys' primes/glory years were part of my Dark Period between being a fan as a kid and then slowly rediscovering the sport as an adult (starting circa Barrera-Hamed). Seen their big marquis fights but never actually watched either guy live.

How is Trinidad any more or less a question mark right now than Jones was coming off his triplet of losses? Is it just the time away and the fact that he looked a little rotund in the jowels on 24/7? I know they fought a few weight classes apart in their primes, but if Tito's been ballooning with age and Roy's still plateaued at a peak fighting weight of around 175, that neutralizes any size advantage, so what makes Roy such a favorite now? Isn't the general agreement on his last couple of fights that he looked decent but nowhere near the speed or reflexes he had?

Excuse my ignorance, I am but a humble and empty vessel. :good

Whoever is guiding Trinidad is a fool or sadistic. If it is his father then shame on him. This fight isnt good for Tito or boxing for that matter. Big deal if Jones wins, but then this is a typical Jones fight. Always avoid whoever can hurt you and take on only has-beens, glue-horses, part time firemen, postmen or policemen. Then have all your halfwitted, ignorant fans and the Max Kellermans of the world jump up and down and rave about the "great" Roy Jones. Why dosen't he fight Hopkins, or Johnson, or even Tarver again? Try to avenge one of those defeats, or take on Pavlik (when he's done with Taylor) or the winner of Calzaghe-Kessler. Picking on a has-been like Tito aint gonna cut it. But it'll satisfy all the know-nothings that think he's still the greatest.

Tito has a puncher's chance. People forget that Roy has been laid out twice. Also the fact that Roy has to cut another 5 pounds, it doesn't seem to healthy for him at this stage of his career.

That said, Roy should be able to win this one and win it comfortably. I really doubt Trinidad's motivation going into a fight like this because if his lacklustre fight against Winky and the fact he hasn't fought in a while. Roy has beaten decent fighters in Ajamu and Hanshaw in that time.

It wasn't one punch that destroyed Mayorga but rather a compilation of punches. Mayorga lacked any ability to avoid Trinidad's punches. That's why he was KOed.

Winky was never cauhght clean by Tito... good for him! If he were to be caught by Tito clealy he wouldn't have won the fight. Tito should have kept throwing hooks to Winky's shoulders until he had to put his hands down... he just stood there waiting for Winky's jabs to hit him flat on the face... Then again, Tito is not well known as a boxer... Jones shouldn;t let his guard down for a second or he'll wake up next morning asking:WTF happened? :deal

It goes like this. Roy, stylistically, is a nightmare fight for Tito if there ever was one. Too much speed (even at this diminished state), reflexes, slickness, AND POWER. Tito has always had problems with boxers (BHOP, DLH, Winky, etc.), and Roy can outslick all those guys.

Roy is also natural at 175. Even when he fought at 160, he would come in the ring at damn near 180 lbs. He was the lineal champ, and one of the most dominant in the division's history. He also made the leap up to Heavy, and took a title there.

Sure Jones was stopped twice, but Tito was stopped at a lower weight class by an Old BHOP (he was old even then). He has also been dropped SEVERAL times at 147 and 154.

Tito, on the other hand, has fought at lower weight classes through the amatuers on to the pros (as low as 108 at one point). Sure he is MUCH bigger now, but his prime weight is still 154. In most of his bouts at 160, he never weighed more than 157-158.

Tito ate himself over the 200lb mark during his retirements, but that does not make him a light heavy now. He never would have beat RJJ prime for prime. RJ is not the smae, but he has been active and has won 2 fights in a row. Tito was last seen being used as Winky Wright's punching bag.

All of the above = Decimation of Tito. :good
