Which fighters, from the past, weighing under 190lbs, would have a realistic chance of major success at HEAVYWEIGHT from1970 till today?
All fighters to compete as they ACTUALLY WERE .No hypothetical versions please.
    How many?
    Who are they?

Marciano, Charles and Dempsey are the 3 big contenders. I'd favor them over most

Some others that could nick titles over weaker lineal champs and abc champs:

    Tunney
    Moore
    Langford
    Patterson
    Conn
    Loughran
    Sharkey (Jack and Tom)
    Schmeling

Jackomano and Gazelle Punch like this.

    Sam Langford
    Billy Miske
    Jack Dempsey
    Gene Tunney
    Johnny Risko
    Tommy Loughran
    Max Schmeling
    John Henry Lewis
    Bob Pastor
    Billy Conn
    Ezzard Charles
    Rocky Marciano
    Archie Moore
    Floyd Patterson
    Michael Spinks

I will end it with him, because you said no hypothetical versions.

You make a list like that and call another of my threads ridiculous?
You are going to have to be ignored!

Nice of you to name all the champs lol the question was who would have success. Considering Roy Jones and Hide did have success it already answers the question. Should have added Holyfield pre roids. Cooper was a good fighter and was probably cheated out of handing Ali his first loss (great job by the corner). I’d say he could hang w most of them. I’m not going through four fighters and that list. I’ll just say Jones, Cooper could hang w most and take a few wins. Hide and Satterfield are more gate keepers.

Cooper couldnt beat the best guys of his own era.Cooper fought the 60's version of Ali so that is irrelevant.

    Hide does not qualify
Jones has precisely one bout at heavyweight.

The question was a realistic chance of major success. Why am I even responding to you?Bye

how old are you lol? Grow up child. You asked a question and people were nice enough to engage in your question. You asked what fighters under 190 would have success and you're crying because I named two that actually did have success. Jones beat Ruiz on that list. One would assume one fight or not that’s success.

I think Jack Dempsey would annihilate the division today. No fighter today ever encountered a fighter like him. On the contrary he's fought and beaten multiple people who absolutely dwarfed him. His weakness wasn't big oppenents. As a matter of fact, those were the ones he feasted on. I believe he said he liked mixing it the bigger fighters as they represented bigger targets or something along those line. No his weakness were the slicksters as Tunney showed (and even this was when he was rusty and well past his best) .

Are today's trainers and managers and promoters just cinderblock stupid because they aren't looking for the next heavyweight prospect to be some sub-6 foot, 185 pound, plodding white boy with two left feet?

Y'all should inform them of their misguided ways.
