I have a pair. Great grip on them and really comfortable. I don't use them as much because I prefer high tops, the ankle support in a high top makes it easier for me to move. But I do love my Machomais.
Thankyou, im not a guy who moves around awhole lot so the Machomais would be ok for me ? Or put it this way should I spend 80 on them ?
Ah man, this is where it really comes down to personal preference. You'll get great traction in them, that's for sure. For me personally; I dunno if it's a mental thing or what but I have an easier time moving in a higher top shoe that's tighter around my ankle. These also have really high arches in them; and I don't really have high arches on my feet. Like I said; super comfortable shoes and great grip on the canvas, but my personal taste is with a little bit flatter sole to make it easier to move. But I would say they're worth the money if you want a shoe with good arch support and great grip.
Well, the shoe is loose to begin with. It has an easy lacing system on it (which is really easy to lace, admittedly) but you can't really pull it very tight, so it'll be loose around your calve and ankle, unless you wrap the laces around the shoe once.
Ok but it isnt loose around the ankle to the point of me having no stability around it is it ? Im not trying to fight or even spar and have my ankle bend frequently.
Eh....it's not bad; but there's a reason I switched to using Adidas Tygun IIs all the time, pretty much. I'll leave it at that; that kind of illustrates what my personal taste in a boxing shoe is. For my money my Adidas' are the best shoes I've had.
I must say Koyla I got these shoes in today and my god I love them. The arches werent really high to me they where perfect, I wrap the laces around the shoe once and felt no issues with the ankle or calf maybe slightly with the ankle but if it where to be a slight issue I could tape them before a fight. Overall though they kick ass very light weight and comfertable and the pivots are so smooth.
They are great for pivoting, I do like the grip on them a lot. Nice shoes. And you're right, I don't think I've ever had a pair that light.
