i think Margarito wants it more. if he loses no more big fights for him. if Cotto loses he will no doubt be back because of his fan base. But because Margarito wants it more will it translate to a win?
That's an interesting point, but you must also consider Cotto's motivation to stay undefeated. Once a fighter loses his '0,' everything changes.
People are probably going to say Margo, but I think it's even. I don't think neither could possibly want it more.
Sir, I will agree with your post and I will take it one step further. Yes, Margarito has said all the right things and done all the right things up to this fight. However, at times, some of the things I have read on him recently suggest he maybe a bit overconfident. Anyways, Margarito does hunger by virtue of waiting for this marquee fight. However, Cotto knows very well as champ and undefeated that he sees Margarito as a very dangerous challenger that will define his career one way or the other. I just think that while we may be on upset alert Cotto is prepared to turn this stiff challenge back. He knows what Margarito brings so I would like to see how he responds to that. Thus, I think the intangibles right now are in Cotto's corner in that there is a vocal section of the boxing world doubting him that he can overcome the bigger dog in this title fight for welterweight supremacy.
With that said (and, there is no reason to doubt it; Cotto seems to be the consumate professional) who wins if both fighters are at their absolute bests and bring it 100% on Saturday night?
I can make a case for both in a seesaw battle. May be a draw would be appropriate after these two champions bleed each other dry. But I'm beginning to think that this will lead to more debate in the future. I say my head is Margarito but heart says Cotto. However, I tend to switch it each time I think about this fight. I really can't decide and I really don't know. Sorry, I can't give you a definite answer. I rather the fighters in less than 48 hrs decide who is the best.
I don't think either guy wants it more than the other, at least in the sense that it would influence the outcome of the fight.
