who wants to see Junior Dos Santos blow out that arrogant freak Brock Lesnar?

Dos Santos is a force to be reckoned with in the division. It will be interesting to see where he gos next. Perhaps a match up with a recovered Velasquez?

 

How is Dos Santos's take down defence?

If it is not very good he will get taken down and pounded out.

 

We haven't seen him on the ground yet - but he's a jiujitsuan under Nogueria - so I imagine he has no qualms about fighting on the ground whether it's from his back or otherwise.

 

He is only a purple belt. So vs a guy like Lesnar who handled a very proficent blackbelt in Frank Mir like he was nothing on the ground. I doubt he'd do much.

 

I need to see JDS takedown defence.

 

It's a horrible mismatch; yes Junior trains with Nog, but Lesnar trains with Nelson, and he isn't exactly a leglock machine because of it.

Lesnar isn't going to leglock anybody, and Junior isn't going to have Nogs game either, it just doesn't happen overnight.

Junior is basically custom made to lose to Lesnar, mediocre BJJ and no wrestling background to stop the takedown; not that you need that, but he hasn't shown either way yet so its safer to assume that his takedown defense is not good enough to stop the best wrestler in the heavyweight division.

Not to mention the size difference.

 

Dos Santos would have a very difficult time with Lesnar in the size, strength, and wrestling apsects. No way will Lesnar sit there and trade with him.

 

Lesnar will beat him into a pulp

 

Unless Dos Santos has some of the best takedown defense in MMA or manages to land a monster knee, I don't see him beating Lesnar. The only way to beat Lesnar at this point is to KO him. You're not going to win a decision against him, and I don't see him falling for any leglocks anymore. Putting a rear-naked choke on him might damn be near impossible.

Dos Santos could land a big knee while Lesnar rushes in. But I give him about as much chance of that as Carwin landing a big right hand. Of any of the potential heavyweight contenders, they're going to need a bit of luck on their side. Oh, and Cain V. has less of a shot than either of those guys.

 

I have to echo what has been said so far, JDS is a great talent, but Lesnar is a horrible style match up for him.

 

I don't see Junior stopping Brock's takedowns unless he catches him with one of his uppercuts coming in, not to mention I don't think Junior is a threat off his back.

 

I like Brock, I want him to dominate his division for a while.

 

I agree with pretty much everything, but you can never rule out a leg lock; guys who are great at them are always better at executing them once the opportunity is there than the guys defending them.

I don't think it's likely because they come from two main sources, either completely out of nowhere, which is low percentage and leaves a decent sized window to escape by just pulling away, and from setting them up meticulously, which can put you in a dangerous position to get pounded.

Maybe Im just a huge fan of leg locks, but if a leglocks master gets the oppotunity then it's one of the few ways Lesnsar could lose.
