I think that you have to be pretty naive to believe him when he says he's going to approach the fight in exactly the same way....whether he has the ability to change things is a different matter
Peterson already has Khan figured out, sure he had a few hiccuops early on in their first fight but he managed to come on strong and nulify Khans pitter patter flurry style, Khan cannot hurt peterson, peterson can hurt khan, if he applies the same pressure he did in rounds 5-12 early on I can see him stopping Khan. Sure people think the fight was close, as soon as Peterson started to lay on the pressure Khan looked lost, and hurt on more than one occasion. He can walk through Khans punches, as was evident throughout the second half of their first fight.
You say that, but you think Lamont probably gained a LOT of fans through the Amir khan fight the exposure he got(im one of them), and Amir probably LOST a lot of fans too(im one of them)... I dont think its that unlikely Peterson would get the nod if he dominates... I dont think Golden Boy are that fussed about Khan to go all out and blindly rob Lamont... Khan aint a Manny Pacquiao... They'll just leave Khan and Promote Peterson.. Golden Boy were probably suprised by how **** khan was too... they're a multi-million pound company, i doubt Khan really matters to them... I think a draw would be likely if Peterson dominates... then Khan can move up, Peterson keeps the belt, and there can be a triology...
Me? Naive? When Nelson interviewed him he seemed genuinely at a loss as to what he needed to do differently. Whether Roach can drum something into him, whether he can execute it and whether it will work are different questions.
Didn't we have this line when N'Dou fought Magic on a Hatton promoted card? N'Dou got a draw in a fight you had him losing IIRC...
The only thing Khan has done differently since having his head caved in is lifting his arms and banging his gloves together.
He only does it because Pacquiao does it, ain't you noticed lol... ever since he startes sparring pac hes been doing it... look at a pac fight you'll see him doing it
Firm but fair:yep I thought Khan tactically was all over all the shop last time and Roach didn't do much to correct it during the fight. A real make or break fight for Khan this rematch.
Don't think they're remotely similar circumstances :tired Khan's worth a bit to GBP. I can sense the fact its going to be difficult for Lamont to get any joy with the judges unless he wins quite a bit more clearly than the first time.
Not me. I think people take Khan too seriously TBH. They are very quick to slag him off, just like they are with Buncey. He is a fairly innocent, confident, talented young fellow with average to low intelligence. Let's be honest he's probably our most talented/successful boxer at the minute and he's not a complete arse so let's get behind him!
