A ref would have to be very brave to have stepped in at any point during that fight, with neither having the concussive power to finish the other off. But yeah, Whyte was badly rocked in the 5th. What counted against Chisora in my view was the way he chose to take a rest. Backing off to the ropes and semi-slumping against them belied how knackered he was, and by not working in the first two mins of the latter rounds he allowed Whyte to score by simply throwing little pitter patter shots. Going all-in to win rounds in the final minute was a risky strategy, but maybe the only one open to Chisora as he had gassed badly by the 7th or 8th. So had Whyte, but he was a little cuter in dealing with it, probably worked a little more over the full three minutes of the championship rounds and in my eyes did enough to nick it.
Ah I've only just seen the result as I was out. It's hard to ever celebrate a United victory even when it's against Spurs. I'll be glad to see the back of the ***** Mourinho. This time for good.
